A wild Arrows A23 appears!
Impressive by Williams standard but after seeing what Aston has achieved in packaging with the same mercedes pu and gearbox it looks substandard.101FlyingDutchman wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 18:18Impressive packaging by Williams overall. That’s some watertunnel they’ve created.
The waterslide on the Williams looks substandard to AM, but undercut on AM looks substandard to the Williams. You can't get everything. One could say, AM sidepods are essentialy original FW44 sidepods with flow separation barier at the side.EJ22B wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 18:33Impressive by Williams standard but after seeing what Aston has achieved in packaging with the same mercedes pu and gearbox it looks substandard.101FlyingDutchman wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 18:18Impressive packaging by Williams overall. they meant the launch 2022 pods. Put a giant tyre wake blocking element on the sidepod of launch williams 2022 and you kind of have the amr (sidepod at least) therefore the packaging by Williams can at least be as goodMoctecus wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 20:38The AM and Williams sidepods really are quite different if you compare them directly. Here's a quick animation I put together:

I'm aware.
Just have a look at the difference in frontwing area and add to that the Williams wing is crancked up enormously. Williams is sure depending on a lot of FW downforce for balance!Moctecus wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 20:38The AM and Williams sidepods really are quite different if you compare them directly. That might explain some of the seesawing on the wheel I noticed in the morning session, during mid corner rotation, that we saw during the onboards with Albon?
What are the negatives of having to depend on a cranked up front wing for balance?Henk_v wrote: ↑23 Feb 2023, 22:50Just have a look at the difference in frontwing area and add to that the Williams wing is crancked up enormously.
