Looking for a better seat
Max Verstappen has only completed 18 laps (and the fastest time). RB19 has been inside for some time due to an oil leak.
Good news so far. Seeing Max positive is a boost in confidence in the teamVerstappen 'satisfied' with RB19
"The test days [have gone] well, especially on Thursday when we drove a lot of laps [157], and were able to test a lot," explained Verstappen.
"Today we focused a bit more on the details and made small steps. The car responds very well to everything we change, and we learned a lot for next weekend and also for the races after that.
"I'm very satisfied.
"Every time I drove the car, I felt comfortable and we were able to go for it right away, that's also important.
"For me, these have been positive test days, it remains to be seen how fast we will be here at the Grand Prix, but I am positive."
I agree. The tricky thing for viewers is that RB id distorting how testing normally is.Henk_v wrote: ↑24 Feb 2023, 21:37It ocurred to me today that RB may not be necissarily faster, but they are just ahead in testing. As so little has changed, like they said themselves, they are already at the tweaking stage, whereas all other teams are still exploring.
I really do believe theybare fast, but there is some apple/oranges effect as RB may be operating far closer to race trim than other teams.
Question is....just how much performance are they leaving in the garage when they pop out to do some testing laps.AR3-GP wrote: ↑24 Feb 2023, 21:39I agree. Mercedes/Ferrari is how testing normally looks and those two teams will find plenty of pace between now and next Saturday. It's about getting the car to it's optimum window and normally this takes time.
RB have the advantage of a very similar car to last year simply being refined. Setup work from last year probably carried over heavily.
Are they think that Redbull's speed comes from driver seat?
I can think of at least 3 tricks that were picked up on over the years from looking in the cockpit. And even then, ergonomics are a big thing for long run pace, could just be checking if anything is done differently they'd like to try
