If the car continues with its high deg, they should just go Schumacher style—make an extra pit stop and drive the bloody hell out of the car the entire race. Beat them with pure driver quality, slightly better engine, and relentless strategy aggression. Play game face four down football. I hope Shaall has it in him. I sense Sainz has it, but I’m not as sure Shaall is a merciless killer — which they need with an aggressive strategy like what Schumacher used to do.

It's a different world. Back then he had a splash of fuel keeping the car light to do these kamikaze runs. The fuel in the car is now set from the start and this variable is not available.

The balance of this car seems much more to Sainz's preference than Leclerc

Charles probably exploring deeper at the limits of grip! More sensitive feedback... Fine details.. Wheel scrub.. Aero loading and unloading... Traction at the limit.... Details we will never fully apreciate as onlookers.

Given the goofy setup, deg looks pretty good for a high fuel stint. Pace wise, don’t know where they are at relative to RB/Merc. About 2s/lap quicker than Haas on their first C3 stint.

Which is bad news.

I don't care about lap times right now, but when i hear Leclerc saying the car is quite different, they have work to do, it is pretty clear that we are starting behind compared to last year and Ferrari has never been able to claw back performance during a season compared to the competition. Starting extremely strong was our only chance realistically

This isn’t a ‘we’ve got a bit of work to do to get the setup perfect for the weekend and be fighting for the pole/win’ - this sounds more like ‘we’ve got a bit more work to do in the factory, the sim, the wind tunnel, + a few updates to find the missing pace to redbull’.

I’m sure Dialtone will chime in later but the mini stint on C1’s looked pretty decent. Sainz progressed into the 36’s before pitting. Do wonder why they cut things short.

Sainz is not reliable. I still remember when he was super happy in France 2021 after qualifying, while Charles was saying the car had major issues since FP1. They both got demolished by everyone in the race.

The same happened in Mexico last year...

If Sainz is happy, i'm even more scared than before.

Correct, I really don't know why people are so worked up about this.

Ferrari tested a medium-low DF aero setup at a track usually requiring a medium/medium-high one. The car acted exactly as you'd expect, fast in a straightline, tricky in corners, and generally wore its tire more quickly due to less load.
