Mike Elliot not Shov
Thanks for correction. I only caught half of it as its on in the background at present.
I'm pretty sure he said "Tim Elliot".
For the record Ted said "Mike Elliot" not "Tim".
I don't think we are referring to the same time stamp. I'm certain I heard tim and it struck me at the time as bizzare.zeroday wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 18:49For the record Ted said "Mike Elliot" not "Tim".

[Piergiuseppe Donadoni] The current W14, which didn't convince in the wind tunnel, is a transition specification between the zeropods concept (W13) and what the real W14 will be after the update packages of the first part of the season. From then on, Mercedes believes they can win races.
Not 100% sure but might be part of Teds notebook or the development corner on Sky.
Why do you need a transition spec if you already know it's a dud?AR3-GP wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 20:35[Piergiuseppe Donadoni] The current W14, which didn't convince in the wind tunnel, is a transition specification between the zeropods concept (W13) and what the real W14 will be after the update packages of the first part of the season. This sounds a lot like last year's Spanish GP upgrades, which didn't really thrust them into serious contention either because the other teams had upgrades of their own.
Seems a bit strage if it didn't convince in the wind tunnel why they developed itAR3-GP wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 20:35[Piergiuseppe Donadoni] The current W14, which didn't convince in the wind tunnel, is a transition specification between the zeropods concept (W13) and what the real W14 will be after the update packages of the first part of the season. You're asking a chicken and the egg question. The car has to be developed and found to "not be convincing" in order for them to change course. They are not oracles. They don't know it's not going to work.f1jcw wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 20:58Seems a bit strage if it didn't convince in the wind tunnel why they developed itAR3-GP wrote: ↑25 Feb 2023, 20:35[Piergiuseppe Donadoni] The current W14, which didn't convince in the wind tunnel, is a transition specification between the zeropods concept (W13) and what the real W14 will be after the update packages of the first part of the season.
