Does the nose ring thing have to be in the team thread? Lol.

I think driver should be allowed personal peircings. Let them sign a waiver and be done with it.
To be honest it really belongs in the FIA thread, but was overly discussed last year anyway. It is a non(sense)-story anyway; an attempt to whip up divisive (anti)social media posting.
Perspective - Understanding that sometimes the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Get out of here with your sound logic.

I'll now quote what Toto Wolff just said on Sky Germany with regard to the sidepods: "We'll soon bring ourselves up to a level that looks similar to that of the competition. So it should be clear that Mercedes is abandoning the Zeropods with the announced changes to the sidepods and is making a creeping, gradual change.
Is that not more of a performance metric than a visual metric? I personally can see it from both perspectives.
No. It suffers in translation. It was purely related to the sidepods. Wolff said quite clearly that these will be changed soon and that the Mercedes will then look very similar to the competition in this respect.

I've read in some forums from some fans that Lewis should "respect the rules", personally, respect is a two way street and maybe FIA should resolve the issues with 2021 before demending respect.

From what I've seen in Fp2...this is looking very ominous for Mercedes. Seems like they're only the 4th best team now

Suggestions Aston are running very fuel light compared to the rest. Add in probably turned the engine up and you get that kind of gap.

Aston isn't faster than Max in a Red Bull.

But they are faster the lewis and George in a subpar Mercedes

Seems like it's going to be a very embarrassing season for Mercedes. This only due to their inability to shed their pride and use a concept that faster teams are utilizing

They need a reset in the engineering department. Elliott has got to be on the hot seat.

What is Allison doing?

The brain drain has affected Mercedes more than they realize. Or worse they have realized it and are too proud to admit it

Completely disaster for Mercedes. It is not fast in a lap and it has a bad race pace. And the motor is not an excuse, look at AM.

“It’s part of the normal development. We have got a very different sidepod coming – I say very different, a different sidepod that’s coming. I think Toto said that in the press. But it takes time to bring that. It takes time to make the bits, it takes time to change the bits that go underneath the bodywork to fit, so we’ll bring it as soon as we can,” he said after FP1 on Friday.

Sure, but at the cost of cornering speed and tyre wear. Car lacks downforce and doesn't look after its tyres as well as last year.

Ironically, the W13 may end up being the better car relative to the rest of the grid.
