Merc getting spanked by a customer team. Elliott is in over his head quite frankly.
Indeed. Didn't think merc would ever get beaten by a customer.

Race 6 is Imola (19-21 May). Although Baku (race 4, 28-30 Apr) should be feasible as it's in 2 months.

To be honest, given the gap to the leaders, I don't think new sidepods will get them that much closer. At this point, they should look to give up that failed aero platform and take inspiration from AM/RB.

Just going by talk that they're supposedly trying to bring the planned upgrade forward to Baku.

I wonder if it's better for Merc to just write off their chances until 2026 if they can't get their act together this year?

I don’t know any Merc fan who believes this upgrade will make an ounce of difference. The concept is flawed. End of. The team has been stripped of its talent, it’s got no direction, and even Hamilton has given up pretending it’s not a turd.

23’ is a catastrophe. A write off. They need to acquire some talent ASAP and scrap the flawed concept.

Hamilton will be gone at the end of the season, and I’d be surprised if Toto remains. Like Vowles, a new challenge needed. Team has run out of spark.

Not really, but 2023 is definitely lost. Just like Aston last year, they will have the benefit of picking and choosing the aero concept that work best based on the results on track.

i just don't understand how can mike elliott get it so wrong while he worked all this time with allison

there has to be a problem somewhere else

how can you get it wrong 2 times in a row and even downgrade your car

I wonder how he feels, and whether he's confident enough in the technical department to sign an extension.

Problem is....is it even possible to bring a revised concept with their car.

Id presume that the SIS of the tub is in such a place that allows them to run the mid wing and the further back side pod opening. If the SIS is in a place that wouldnt allow them to run a more conventional side pod intake further forwards, then they really are in big do-doo.
