There is some optimism at Red Bull regarding yesterday's long runs, with an eye on the race. Tire degradation Alonso was much higher.
So they really think Alonso will be faster than Ferrari boys?
I think so yes. It will probably be fairly close ver/lec/alo though

This is some copium on Red Bull's part. Alonso ran a different pacing of his stint. Very aggressive to open the stint so he knows the worst case scenario. He will know how to back off tomorrow He already showed in pre-season test what the conservative pacing was and his tires didn't wear then.

If you think about it. AMR did the conservative race run at night in preaseason on day 3, and then they did the aggressive pacing race run in FP2. AMR have their bases covered.

RB19 seems to suit both Perez and Verstappen like Marko said it would

Perez hasn't had a quali performance as consistent as this in a long time. Reminds me of COTA 2021

Perez saying they compromised the car to be better in the race. Lol

That was quite funny. Perez must have realised what he said when he said it was a compromised car in quali to focus on the race.

If this is how a compromised quali car does in qualifying, I wonder what we're going to see tomorrow

I'm very much looking forward to seeing those shoe delicacies some folks here are preparing
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I was hoping you'd forgotten

Who knows they may break parc fermé to bring spaceship mirrors that only just arrived from the factory. +100km/h top speed. Worth starting in the pitlane for sure

A scrubbed set of softs is available for both drivers to start on tomorrow as a result of only needing 1 attempt at a fast lap in Q2. They went out a second time on a fresh set, but both Perez and verstappen did only an outlap and inlap on them

Haha. Would still probably finish in the top 4 starting from the back.

Interesting though, mirror designs seem very conservative across all teams so far.

Eating a shoe is worth for Redbull WCC & WDC, it's only a little sacrifice from ourselves

What? Parts are peanuts compared to testing and development. The labour alone would bury production costs. That's what makes you laugh when people complain about crashed cars affecting their budgets, it's peanuts compared to operational and dev costs.
No. People work 40 hours a week (plus overtime) and round the year. They cost the same. The development tools like wind tunnel, CFD and everything else keeps running throughout the year and costs the same. Crashing loses valuable time on the track and data. Losing parts, is an overhead to reproduce spares, which would compromise other development part manufacturing and forces overtime labor to produce the development components . Yes, crashes pinch an unnecessary hole in the pocket.
Exactly this. The team had a budget that is in large part fixed, all the people, travel, facilities and for some teams catering.

The variable part is where you make the difference and that's parts manufacturing.

Translation:

Max Verstappen took pole for the Bahrain GP, but the Dutchman himself had not counted on it. His team, according to Marko, wanted to give him a different set-up that was more focused on the race, but the Dutchman did not quite agree.

With a nice lead over the competition, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez secured the front row of the grid during qualifying for the Bahrain GP. The reigning world champion starts on P1, followed by his Mexican teammate. That obviously satisfied Helmut Marko, he told ServusTV.

"It looked more like during the test days, but we really had to do our best. However, we believe the difference will be more obvious in the race because our tire wear is very, very good. We also have enough tires to choose from, which will allow us to execute different strategies."

Verstappen wanted pole

Up until qualifying, things were not always going well for Verstappen. The Red Bull driver struggled with the balance of his RB19 and was far from comfortable.

Moreover, the Red Bull team wanted Max to drive with a set-up that was entirely focused on the race, but the Dutchman himself, according to Marko, wanted the focus to be partly on qualifying as well. And so, after a discussion with the engineers, a middle ground was sought.

"In terms of tuning, we sought a compromise," Marko explained. "Verstappen necessarily had to have pole position," the Red Bull advisor laughed. "That while the engineers wanted a setup focused on the race. With a compromise, we still achieved the goal."
Max wanted the pole haha

Might not look like an amazing decision tomorrow, but let's see.

He said they have "very, very good" degradation so that is even for Marko rather confident
