Entry List Days Away

Post

I know there is another thread about this, but i just have a question about it

As FOTA have made a conditional entry, what is stopping the FIA from over looking them? Williams and FI are confirmed along with all the new proposed entries (however many there are), so what is stopping the FIA from saying F##K You and making the grid up of new teams + Williams and FI?

Its not a situation we want to see but it could happen right?

From the FIA's point of view, why turn down teams who want to be in next year for teams who can't decide, and if the rules don't suit them they wont stay with F1?

I hope we will see FOTA + Williams and FI and the extra spaces made up of new teams

Perhaps Williams + FI + Selected new teams + selected FOTA teams could happen

Worst case: Williams + FI + New Teams and a F##K you to the FOTA teams

I may be wrong in all this and im not wishing it to happen, but maybe? What do you think? What would you do if you were the FIA? (apart from avoid this mess in the first place!!!!!)

I think the teams will stay very much the same. With the addition of USF1 (USGPE) and 2 new, well funded, teams.

What we will see is Williams (they won't pull out as many people seem to think, it's their sole purpose of existance) and Force India, which is the same. They exist to race and race they shall. I doubt Max would get rid of the FOTA teams, it'd ruin F1. You'd lose engine suppliers (a single engine system..not very nice), drivers, credibility and alot of sponsors.

Like you said, a valid question, but one that has been asked already in other threads multiple times.

I have not seen any grumblings about Williams pulling out. They still owe TV money to FOM that they were advanced to keep afloat, and they signed before anyone else. I could very well be mistaken, but I thought Williams was the only solid entry for sure.

What have you seen about Williams pulling out?

owwww...

The possibility led Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali to issue a media statement late Wednesday, insisting that if a compromise with the FIA is not reached imminently then Ferrari cannot be confirmed on the list of confirmed 2010 teams...
“Ferrari’s position has not changed," he said. .. :o :o :o

It sounds like they are hoping they aren't on the list tomorrow

If any team submits an entry, and is rejected, it makes it easier to justify breaking any (assumed by Bernie and Max) present contracts.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

So today we have the one-minute-til-midnight meeting between Max and FOTA, with Bernie throwing in the threat of massive lawsuits.

If the trial is held in Italy, BE is dead mortadella.

Seriously, the manufacturers must have a good idea about the various end-games and how to play them. I suspect that Max and Bernie will not be able to bluff them. At least I hope so!
