Some interesting points, but Williams were having problems before Michael took over from Head. Either way, Mike Gascoyne says that their problems are all aero or aero related!

I would take the horsepower figures coming out of the acoustic data with a very large pinch of salt. Besides, having the most revs does not mean you have the most torque at those revs, or a good torque spread

Things could change very quickly at Williams and soon the Sam Michael honeymoon may be over.

Remember 2003 when Antonia Terzi was credited for their massive turnaround? She got the axe this year for doing the walrus.

I'm thinking its the engine and the aero. Whilst BMW are considering their options, I have heard that Toyota have approached Williams to supply engines next year. Good news I think as the Toyota engine is well regarded. Nonetheless Williams needs to lift their game re. aero. I'm trulli hoping this engine deal comes off (BMW arrogance will not be missed) as Toyota are very keen to win. Webber-Williams-Toyota - bring it on! And I recall a previous successful partnership between Willimas and a certain Japanese engine supplier in the past! Just what Frank, Patrick and Sam need perhaps!

At the press conference at the end, Webber mentioned the clutch. Would certainly cause the difficulties Williams seem to be having getting away from the line? Don't know about Heidfeld though, maybe he has a better feel for it.

My guess is that Webber is unable to regulate the release of the clutch as smoothly as Heidfeld. The McLarens and Renaults are apparently very tactile and the controls easy to use, probably explains their relative speed away from the line.

Who knows. At the end of the day there's still a lot of work to do for Williams and Webber in particular!
