Mercedes W14

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

There was a post showing a photo of W14 show car turning up to some air strip but that post has been deleted?

Not strange. The photo isn't a representative picture of a W14 (it was an FOM show car) so it was probably flagged and deleted for being off topic or misleading.

<mod edit as a response: Indeed, all of the above. Please, keep the car threads clean and focused on the real car. It is one of the awesomest things in this forum and it will continue to be policed tightly. This is only kept here for educational purposes, normally this post, 3 above and 1 below would also be deleted.>

A reminder from page 1, no speculation, please, use the team thread for that. Posts have been deleted.
This is the official Mercedes W14 car thread. The thread has been created to facilitate discussion specifically about the W14 car.

Please, ONLY discuss technical items of this car. Refrain from speculation.

General discussion about the team, its drivers and performance can be posted in the team thread.

Livery discussion also belongs in the 2023 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team thread

Looks like there are geometry changes to the 3rd and 4th flaps. Like there is a step halfway across the flap

But what does become clear is what/why they appear to have shelved the infamous ‘goblin’ wing; the full allowance of separation devices and huge pieces are present and cascading from front to back. The ones between the the first & second elements even appear to be ‘setting something up’ beneath the wing.

Don't knock it just yet, it depends on the state of the track surface as it has been resurfaced recently. If grip is low and deg is higher than expected, they might have some suprises.
