Has to be an aero choice to accelerate the air as these massive swoop downs can cause the air to lose energy.
There is always a aero choice but the exhaust is there.
Accelerating the air would create lift.
I may be out of my depth here but wouldn't it require an airfoil shape for lift to be generated? I didn't think it was. I thought the main goal here would be to avoid air flow separation so that air being channeled to the beam wing remains energized. I also remember a pre season preview with Scarbs mentioning air flow separation at the bottom as a potential problem with this dramatic waterslide concept.
The CFD analysis from the Vanja and Shubh videos also show that area to be -ve pressure with quite a bit of separation. Very open to being corrected by more qualified people here.
The whole car is a foil. The whole thing about ground effects is the acceleration of air below the floor to drop it's pressure and generate DF. If you're also accelerating the above the floor,in those areas, you creating lift.
Often the surface of a car is used to guide air to a specific area. If the surface's curvature is too acute, it risks the air not following and seperating from the surface. Of course, it is possible that one purposely made the surface's curvature too acute to cause separation exactly where they wanted it.
