Max’s Q2 time, which was good enough to put him on pole, was set on Q1 used tyres.

What happend to Fia Team driver Max.Didn't watch quali.
He got Charles leclerc’d. Then got FIA’d when it took them 25 seconds to pull the red flag out ruining any Last minute chances for final runs - in order to create a fabricated race tomorrow with cars out of position

Impressive interview by Max… blaming himself for the mistake. He basically confirms he shouldn’t have pushed so much on his lap.

Thanks to Leclerc for making this an interesting grid! We will have an exciting race!

21 seconds from impact to red flag to be exact. Not to mention initially it looked at least from the TV shot that he might have even got it out the wall.

Regardless, even if they threw one after 5-10 seconds, I doubt they'd have restarted the session. The pit-lane chaos wouldn't be worth it.

1min 57 remaining and a fast lap is 1:27. That’s 30seconds to get a warm up lap in.

Would have made quali interesting

What happened on Max’s first lap attempt? I need someone to blame for his mistake.

Any chance at an interesting race tomorrow? Can Alonso hold position? Is Ferraris race pace decent?

It looks like there is a stalemate today

Hamilton out in Q2. Verstappen messes up his banker. Leclerc in the wall.

Can we agree to give it a rest?

Verstapen’s first lap should have been his second and final attempt to be honest!

Like Leclerc he pushed way too much way too soon and paid the price! Both Max and Charles did exactly the same mistake taking too much kerb with Leclerc taking the most and thus ending up worst!

I don’t think tomorrow will be difficult for Max to come back…he can easily win this with the kind of pace advantage he has all weekend long even on top of Perez! A safety car will also make things a lot easier for him and this is a street circuit so I’m expecting at least 1-2 SCs!

Rain will spice things up a bit but I don’t think we’re gonna get rain anyway… [-o<

All we’ve got left is poking the fanbases

Hamilton in the Merc not really part of the conversation today (or at all this year). Leclerc could have been up there. Max could have put in an epic lap with more time.

I think this grid is best we can ask for the show. Otherwise honestly quali is the best part of the weekend because its driver vs themselves so to speak.

F1 seriously needs a rule to punish drivers who are responsible for red flags. Extremely unfair for Verstappen and the rest behind having to start behind someone who ruins it for everyone.

Great grid, but always bittersweet when we cannot get to see the maximum performance from all.
That's where great banker laps pay off. I think it's still fair. Red flag early Q3.. You still have one chance efter that.. Red flag late Q3... Did you put in a good banker?

That still doesn't make it right for the fans who paid to see a full qualifying session.

Perez cementing his position again as the best Redbull driver 2023 so far.

Hamilton starting to look a bit silly.

Leclerc looking like nothing but hype.

Quite an interesting race ahead. Although I think it will be determined by flags rather than pace per se.
