Good job overall......If the team had not taken that over-ambitious call with Lance, a few more points could have been added to team

Well finishing fourth just before the new windtunnel allocation might be a good idea... haha

That's what I am thinking....2nd in the championship is not going to help them if AM is thinking of fighting for the championship next year. Money is the least of their concern

I had a thought about ...could it be that last year's car wasn't as bad as the standings made it look? In a race like today's, that Alonso absolutely destroys Stroll....makes you go hmmmm...

What they lose in time they will probably gain in moral. I know they can not spend moral, but it makes a lot of 50/50's go the right way

Aston had two different cars in the first part and the second part of the season. First a backmarker and second a midfielder. If you mean that the car that ended 7th on the standings in reality without those backmarker races would've finished better then you are correct. Fernando certainly noticed that when testing on Abu Dhabi, he said he was positively surprised.

Now we await the Imola upgrades, hopefully they are as good as promised (others will bring too).

Alonso with consistent results from this car. Imagine if he'd scored a RB or Merc seat in the prev decade.

The jump in performance is impressive from '22. From P7 in the WCC to a possible P2. When was such a jump last seen? Williams 2014?

yeah but its more impressive to me on fairly equal power units. in 2014 williams built a decent car but with a completely dominant mercedes PU from the start.

To be fair it's more like a jump from P6 to a strong P4 because both Ferrari and Mercedes have underperformed, Krack has also said this, although it's still a good jump.

I understand that Krack is just being really humble about it all but in my opinion he can give a bit more credit. There's no such thing as "underperforming" and it doesn't matter where Merc and Ferrari "should be". We've had 6 races now and AMR are currently 2nd in the WCC and 3rd in the WDC despite Lance's injuries before the season and him not scoring points today. They've been the strong 2nd team.

I don't care what the teams say. Finishing 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd makes the pecking order pretty clear. Ferrari has imploded for years. It's not underperforance, it's the continuity of their culture of failure.

maybe throw mclaren and alpine in there too because they should be fighting for 4th and 5th. so technically (not technically) aston didnt move anywhere.

The guy has consistently destroyed his teammates for all the duration of his career, I wouldn't focus on Stroll.
