Great news for Honda and AM. =D>

On a lighter note, Honda and Alonso would continue? :D
Honda spokesman: "The past is the past, Alonso is super talented, driver selection depends on the team".

Hugely exciting for Aston- works status on top of the new factory facilities gives their talented tech team a real platform.

Bit of pressure on Honda yes, but this time they have enough notice for these regulations to be faster out of the blocks than their return in 2015.

As a McLaren-leaning fan, I think Aston have stolen a march here with this deal, assuming it has exclusivity of course.

Really do hope Fernando is fit and fast for this partnership, and I also hope that Mercedes play ball with their PU for the remaining 3 seasons.

Whitmarsh says he wants a powerful engine from the getgo, so nothing about catch ups like last time, hopefully that happens.

No way Fernando will retire just before new regs with huge potential for him.

I think it's a necessary decision for AM to switch because Merc team will not be happy if their struggle continues while AM surge ahead. For 2026 it will be anyone's guess who will make a better engine, but Honda seems to be closest to the ballpark with their current form. So now we have Audi Merc Honda Ford Renault for 2026?

Not sure how F1 team work, but I am guessing AM will now have access to some HONDA engine data for current RBR Honda engine

Ford will not even produce a F1 engine valve cover in 2026.

Fallows has worked with Honda so that's a plus.

Ferrari will still make their own engines too i'm sure.
Cadillac said a couple of things but until they present definitive plans they are a Renault client.
It's up there with the early 2000s for unique PUs.

I think Fernando will fight for the world championship again. At least I certainly wish so. But it is a fact he has now a higher chance than in 15 years since Renault 2008, regardless of his age. In Ferrari despite his heroics he never had the car.

It did happen in the past (the block), but it's a sensible stance Honda is taking up by letting this issue go. Holding such long grudges ultimately benefits no one.

Another thing to consider there's been a major reshuffle at the very top management at honda's main company as well as in f1 division. It's likely new people don't care as much what happened years ago and don't to be tied up with these silly things. It's clear they anticipated it would come up as they had answers ready.

Yes, rear suspension and gearbox.
Not sure about that. They might start before that making their own gearbox and rear suspension....Also in 2014 Honda petioned McLaren to build the gearbox.
