It is outright impressive how McLaren improved their car from Friday to Saturday. Friday they were 9th fastest in sector 3, while they were the fastest overall during qualifying in the last sector.

lol, that arrogant so and so, Gasly, copped 2 penalties for his oafishness in qually and as a result Oscar has been promoted to 9th.

I wonder when Alpine will start to regret hiring him over rehiring Daniel? Gasly has cost Alpine a massive amount of points so far this year.

Really impressive lap from Lando. The Macca is so good in the corners here. Maybe Lando will be able pull away over 1 sec in the corners to keep guys from blowing past with DRS on the straight. I think Lando will be able to follow better than others, and with the long DRS straight, maybe some magic tomorrow? If it rains I think he podiums.

Really can’t believe the pace Macca found. I’m shocked and impressed. Will be a treat to see Lando in a competitive car tomorrow. Hope Macca can deliver a good strategy tomorrow. Carpe diem.

Without rain, McLaren will be slow.

Norris made a mistake in FP2, so his best sector 3 time came on old tyres. As mentioned on the other page, he would have finished 2nd or 3rd in FP2 as well with a clean lap.

But still, good to see that the team mean managed to confirm this in Qualifying as well, of course.

Which translates to 60% chance of rain but during the race this drops to 40% according to meteo France. Here is hoping!

forcast indicates temp is going to be simular range though - actual 21C (apparent 24C). Not sure if apparent temp matters so much

Track temp is the real issue. Hopefully a bit of rain will cool the asphalt. That would help us massively

Yep! If it doesn’t rain at the very least we need cloud coverage… there is a thermal limit on the tyres around here as it is.

My concern right now… no offence to stroll, but I’m always nervous when he is starting behind us.. whilst he has great starts, he has a win it or bin it mentality with race starts.

Like Norris says in the above article, once the guys who are struggling for front tyre temp archive the right temperature they’ll more than likely just sail past.

It was a fantastic lap by Lando and Oscar impressed me too in Q1 but I think it’ll be a big fight to score some points today especially with both cars
