I wonder if Charles was hoping those Lewis to Ferrari rumours were true… they at least seem most poised to pull the gap back to Red Bull.

I know it’s early days from this upgrade, but I cannot see anything more than solid points finishes from this point onwards… maybe a lucky podium should others run into issues?

They’ll probably need to worry more about Alpine and McLaren, let alone Mercedes and Red Bull.

Charles clearly still with some problems, whatever they are. He’s sliding all over the place and added some flap at his last pit stop.
The other Ferrari shows signs of improved tyre wear. It should be added that Leclerc is the better driver than Sainz when it comes to looking after tyres.

As i said multiple times when a car is 0.1s off in quali but 1s or more off in race pace it means there is something wrong that is far beyond aerodynamics.

They need to take this chassis and burn it down. It can not be saved.

Saying it multiple times does not make it a fact. There are numerous possible reasons for the poor race pace. I wonder how you came up with the idea that the chassis is the problem.

Just saw the TV graphic on which cars were on which compounds; Should Charles on Hards with 33 laps?!

Surely that’s a mistake… or did they serious put back on the same Hard tyre again?

Suspension obviously.

Can you explain me how the chassis itself might make a car fast in qualifying, but slow in the race?

routine anti-dope check
for me is absurd that F1 drivers had to do anti-dope testing.
this is a sport where doping is irrelevant
Not true. Doping can give you strength and endurance advantages. It is a reasonable expectation for F1 drivers to be randomly tested.
Not mention improve concentration/focus.

Dope is for dopes, my sporting background is in cycling (time-trialling), there was serious discussion a few years ago about abuse of asthma medication (it is so easy to get a prescription). In age-group triathlon there is a real issue with HRT use (particularly in male categories).
Perspective - Understanding that sometimes the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

I was including suspension systems as well in my "chassis" definition :D Oh i don't know. I'm not an engineer. I just trying using logic and when you are close in quali it usually means that the combination of DWF, drag and PU is quite good (the SF 90 lacked DWF but had a huge PU advantage for example), so the issue is not aero. I can understand the car being extremely peaky but to me, it seems they just can't get the tyres to work correctly.

What a terrible race. Upgrades brought them nowhere, Mercedes clearly leaped them and now Ferrari can't pass an Alpine... Terrible season, get it over with already

Unless they find a solution to tyre deg they can do nothing. All diver efforts, strategic plans or even luck goes into drain by 6-7 laps. Likes of Zhou and Alpines should not finish ahead if you really want to aspire for titles

I’m the absolute weeds. Clearly something wrong with leclercs car, but Carlos going backwards too.

Mercedes brings an update, finally, changing their concept. Boom, it works. Instantly second quickest car. Ferrari had the second quickest car and somehow has developed that into the 3rd, even 4th fastest car. I mean… my god.

Mercedes is a serious and competent team that has made a mistake with these new regulations and for whatever reason reiterated that same mistake, but they changed the car a lot and immediately found quite a bit of performance. They won't be able to match RB and fix their issues in qualifying this year because they need a new car for that, but it's clear they took the right path.

Ferrari on the other hand is not a serious and competent team, which shows year after year.

The strategy for leclerc was the problem. Hard tyres taken off after 17 laps?
