If Ricciardo is putting in great quali and race performances in the sim, and RBR have high correlation, it would be tough to not give him a go.

I imagine it would start like Ric doing FP1 in Perez car. If Ric is within 2 tenths of Max, he just stays for the weekend...
Sounds plausible. At least RBR know that Daniel is consistent and rarely ever had a bad form weekend when driving for them in the past.
Oh, I think he's laser focused and smells Perez's blood in the water...👀
I agree, he seems to have his killer instinct back after being crushed by 2 years of driving sh!tbox McLaren's.

If I was Lando Norris's agent, I'd be talking to AMR right now as well. Alonso maybe has 1 more year, and Lance maybe 3.

He deserves to escape as well. 😒

I dunno, Lando has gotten so used to driving garbage that he might struggle in a real F1 car.

Real ugly of Toto to try push Red Bull CEO to take Mick, while ........

1. bypassing Marko
2. not offering the seat available with him for next year
3. finding a seat in one of his customer engined teams
4. opposing more seats in F1 and the 11 th team
5. not making any effort to have a junior team

Mick got smashed by Kevin even tho he’d been out of F1 for a year, no TP in their right mind would take him after his dismal season.

That was planned and announced quite some time ago, still it should allow him to show that he has his mojo back.

Here's a good article hinting that he might be in line for Sergio's seat:

Red Bull's advisor also spoke about Sergio Perez and how he initially planned to stay with the team for only two or three years. Marko went on to state that the team needs to keep certain options open if and when Perez is either removed or he himself leaves the team for good. He concluded:

“His initial goal was two or three years. That would be more than he planned anyway. You just have to keep the options open for the successor.”

Now that Alpha Tauri is dead as a brand, some more speculation on Daniels future.

Marko also said they planned to rebrand Alpha Tauri and copy the Red bull as much as regulations allow. Even if Ricciardo spends a year in AT, it could give RB management a good idea about wether to bring him up or not.

Why would Daniel want to return to RB? I thought RB was an awful, horrible team that was sabotaging him and favoring Verstappen?

Clearly he made a mistake and iirc has admitted so. It seems the team loves having him, and he loves being there.

Bet he regrets not staying, given how much the car come alive in 2021 til present.
I bet Norris is another one who regretted not taking the offer. The chance of being at the top of the WDC alongside Max would have been the best option for him. RB would have had the best driver pairings on the grid.
