obviously the tyre was damaged, and he could perfectly change it, if they try to solve that maybe the car doesn't got right so the answer is, don't flatspot your tyres. The rule is very good and has bring some exciting back

This is what i'm saying about the need for better clarification on tyre damage. Apparently Kimi's tyre had started to de-laminate, thats dangerous, there's really now way of stopping it from failing all together at that stage, it's just a matter of time. IMO McLaren would have had no problem convincing the FIA that a change of the tyre was justified. Everyone needs time to adjust and get used to these new regulations. At the end of the day the teams and the drivers want to win races and they can't do it with damaged tyres. You can bet it won't take them long to sort these teething problems out.

I would like to see a full no-stop 2hr race, at least it would be easier to follow, i mean even the TV commentators struggle at times. It would encourage drivers to make in-race overtaking manouvers instead of boring pitlane passes. The cars could stay at 600kg, take ballast away and build bigger fuel cells, they'd be more difficult to package but come on its F1, the engineers would soon have it sorted.

THE TIRE RULE IS DEFINETILY TO STAY........THE DRIVER NEEDS TO STRIKE THAT BALANCE .....BUT IF THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU ARE LOOKIN AT THE SUPPLIERS TURNING IN BETTER RUBBER RACE AFTER RACE.....BUT AT "COST CUTTING" EFFECT I DOUBT.....THE PARTS DAMGED DUE TO BLOWN TIRES HAS DEFINETILY SURPASSED THIS "COST CUTTING" ADVANTAGE.......CONSIDER KIMIS CRASH AT THE RING......BROKE HIS FRONT SUSPENSION,DAMAGED LOWER ARMS,BRAKES,WING SECTION........ON THE WHOLE THIS WOULD HAVE COST MCLAREN 10 SETS OF TIRES...!

I feel that the 1 tyre rule was introduced to slow the cars down, more than reduce the running cost....

Having 1 set of wheels per race is a good idea, if Jordan chose too soft a compound you would laugh! McLaren got it wrong i'm afraid.

It would not be wise to let drivers change their wheels if they have flat spotted them. The drivers may deliberately lock the wheels before the pit stop, so that they could change wheels.

I agree that there needs to be a better definition of when a tyre is unsafe. If it were up to me i would only let teams change wheels if it was flat! (for the above mentioned situation)

if the tyre is bad, they could change it without refueling i think, so it's an extra pitstop

Nah...Kimi got it wrong, as fast as he was he locked his brakes too much and ran off the track too often...but hey, thats racing. Kimi is a great driver and he'll be back to winning ways again in no time.
Silence is golden when you don't know a good answer.
