Aston Martin AMR23

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It's the untrimmed high df wing they started the season with. Expect they'll A/B the trimmed/untrimmed versions in fp1

Rather strange choice considering Silverstone is a mid wing kind of track.

It's a double pylon design and is actually 2022 launch-spec wing. --> https://cdn-1.motorsport.com/images/amp ... nico-2.jpg

No idea what they are doing, maybe they will want to make some tests for 2022-2023 comparisons.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Is it just me or does the W shape in that rear wing look more pronounced in the new pic ?

Double pylon wing, that's weird.

Now I'm not a aero guy, just my observations, but did seem interesting with the differences with RB,MCL, WILLIAMS and their similarities of side pod profile.

Since the Canadian upgrade they did say that their WindTunnel and real world data was correlating despite the limited track data and unfavorable weather. I noticed they are trying to get more of an undercut under the sidepod and the changes in the outer profile of the floor is to divert more air above the floor surface.

Additionally the undercut of the sidepod of AMR23 is considerable difference with the RB this image shows justice.

I suppose the sharper angle is to aid flow lateral expansion of the floor through the sides

Just my thoughts and ideas if AMR were to go with a similar design to RB,MCL,WILLIAMS-

What are the chances AMR will be back on top with the other tracks with their current design?

Always the same 4 angles with Fabrega. Never gets the rear shot. Hardest thing to find with Aston is rear shots.
