Stella on where the rest of the upgrade is:

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/mclar ... /10498175/
Can you post the full text here? Thanks!
Stella:
He said: “So, first thing to say is here we have the front wing to be allocated to Oscar.

“The new front wing wasn’t possible because of the limited number of parts in the UK.

“Then when it comes to the upgrades, actually we realised that we need from a design and production point of view a bit more time to complete the full round.

“So, what we will actually see is that there will be some new parts coming in the next races and above all, post-shutdown.”

The Italian said: “It’s obviously a bit of a milestone in our journey.

“It’s important for McLaren, it’s important for the people that worked very hard to develop and deliver these upgrades, and our fans.

“But having said, it doesn’t really change what we are doing. It’s about working hard to deliver upgrades to the car and letting the results come to you and try to have this as regular as possible.”

Asked if the result at Silverstone validated the design team changes, Stella said: “By having enabled some conditions, especially when it comes to the aerodynamic development, [it] definitely accelerated the development of the car. This has allowed us to take this performance step.”
Thank you so much! I don't know how to raise the rating here, but thanks!

Guys, I have one assumption here, one of the factors that may be holding back Lando from leaving for the Red Bull after his contract is the RBPT-Ford engines. I don't think they can get into engines like Mercedes can. Zak indirectly confirmed that he was satisfied with Mercedes, their technology, capabilities, power, ability to build engines. Reliability and other factors. They are on good terms, so why don't they continue to cooperate? I think Zak also discussed this point with Lando, so for the future I see McLaren among the leaders.
I dont see the reason why shouldnt Mclaren Mercedes continue to exist as a combination. We've made some fantasic memories and championships with them ending the 7 year drought from the Honda years. Also the Mercedes engines fit like a glove immediately on this new partnership not to mention that Mercedes is not a quitter

first suggestion, Norris looks decent and someone mentioned he was stuck behind Tsroll for the last laps, if you take that into it it looks even better

If I'm reading the telemetry right, Leclerc is on the brakes at 9 and 11 while Norris just lifts a little more? if that's just pure grip over the the Ferrari that's impressive!

agree, its the high speed stuff where mclaren is clearly able to go faster through without compromising exit, yeah looking further mclaren just seem to lift but not brake compared to leclerc in 9+11
ferrari then gains on the straights, also 13 where we loose a lot, leclerc is able brake later and be on throttle almost same time as Norris
interesting mclaren breaks/lift more in turn 4 high speed

:D :D :D

They certainly haven't given us reason to worry so far and the team have been close to the top in both sessions, it certainly feels positive. In fact the car looks quite strong here so far. FP3 will give us the best picture of what we are capable in lieu of Qualifying and the race. Almost certainly Max will be ahead but Perez current poor form represents another opportunity for the Mclaren. Ferrari look OK at this point too. Everyone has a night to refine their setups and the order can easily change tomorrow though, so I'm holding off the excitement.

Not bad
Norris had major slides/mistakes in the last sector. Maybe tyres went off or he just made some mistakes.

I noticed we hear Jose more and more on Lando's radio even though Will is present in the garage. Some change in positions going on?
From memory, they're swapping between the two on some weekends (I may be mixing this up with another team, as I read a later comment about Will taking paternity leave soon).

found on the mclaren page, engineer debrief, very light, still this was mentioned

Are we bringing further upgrades?
Oscar gets the new front wing this week bringing him up to the same spec as Lando, and we have small upgrades this weekend, as well as plenty of test items. We have test components around the front corner of the car, and we’re going to test a few parts around the floor as well. The aim is to increase load, which brings with it the risk of more porpoising – but that’s a lesser risk here that it was at Silverstone, given the profile of the Hungaroring.

With that in mind, we’ll want to start FP1 with rakes fitted to both cars to gather aero data. Once we’ve gathered enough data, we will remove them and use any remaining time and tyre life for set-up study and perhaps some launch practice.
On a side note.. these engineer briefs are a great read Mclaren put out before the weekend, gives you a good idea of limitations and plans for the weekend.

That is correct after the summer break I believe he will be on paternity leave, don't know for how long.. but Jose as been going back and forwards since 2021 from what I can recall, I'm personally a big fan of this interaction, will only improve inter communication between the driver and engineers.

Maybe it was because of this that Lando constantly rubbed the bottom on the asphalt. Perhaps they managed to further increase downforce, which caused porpoising.

It seems to me, or does the bottom edge in the rear have 2-3 rods instead of one? Or is there an air grille with Pitot sensors?
