That’s if they don’t cancel all of the sessions because of the rain.
They’ll be very nervous of a huge accident at Spa given its recent history….

A bit off topic, but former McLaren guy Pat Fry is leaving Alpine for Williams. I was a bit disappointed McLaren couldn't come to an arrangement with him after his brief stint when he returned for the MCL34.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

So if due to the weather, we can't have a qualifying session, championship positions will be used to set the grid.... sounds a bit lame to me.

Looks like once again the ability to generate tyre temperature is McLaren’s strength. Sainz looking good though.

It’ll be because Moto GP use practice sessions sometimes to help set starting grid so we can’t use inspiration from our learned friends….

They can use practice sessions to set the grid, but they decided to tell the teams that FP1 will NOT be used for it. I guess they feel that it is risky and didn't want to get Sargeants of the world to crash.

Kind of lame as these are top drivers in the world, but it is what it is.

Guys, Max has a penalty this weekend. McLaren 1-2? (Just kidding we saw what happened last year with Max at the back of the grid)

To be honest I think it was a the sensible choice, they have enough going on trying to fit in 4 competitive sessions this weekend, without turning the only practice session into a qualifier

It’s dry there now, I’m sure they will find time for quali at some point
