After seeing Mclaren’s copy floor, I cannot stress enough how damaging someone has been to this team….

The problem is you just know he will do it again after they change the floor.

Do you think McLaren copied RBs floor? From Pictures at Monaco?

Or am I not understanding something?

Having the penalty at spa is strategic too. Easy place to overtake and lap the feild.
SPA is not an easy place to lap the field. Longest lap, least amount of laps. This is also the reason the gap looks big.

Let’s hope there is no further need to lift the car.

It’s not really going to be something teams can ‘copy’ easily. Especially this season.
First you have to analyse the competitor, understand what they are doing and how it works and then try your hardest to implement it into your own cars design.

I’m not really too worried. RB will have plenty of time to sit and make a very fast car even faster. The others need to catch up, even then they will still be 4-6 months behind.

2022 and 2023 RB floor concepts were massively different.

I think the seeds were sown over a year ago, in the Monaco 2022 crash. 2023 is just the icing on the cake in terms of keeping rivals aware of the ongoing direction.

Oh, okay. I thought you meant this year, cos obviously that couldn’t be done in a month, not even without the other things they were working on

Max's whole family visited Spa yesterday. His mother and father, his sister with her boyfriend and eldest son Luca(2).
He was with Max on the track for the first time. He had a great time cheering for uncle Max . Lio (1) stayed at home.
This was so nice for Max because his girlfriend never goes to the track with him. She was only on Saturday during qualifying in Bahrain.

Yep, another floor and sidepod destroyed.

Something has to be done on this. BC deduction.

Sounds like the main threat/problem on Sunday could be Hamilton rather than Perez
"Max was 8 tenths ahead but we have a few tough opponents"

"Hamilton was very fast I assume he will be tomorrow too. You know the two are not the best of friends so the primary task is to get past Hamilton"

"In terms of tyre wear and overall performance our car is in a class of its own especially when we have DRS"

Didn't really see too much of Ferrari on the TV. Was it a good race? How was tire wear?

The low resolution onboard cam doesn't really help us here either. I would say maybe slightly better than both Alpine and McLaren. Red Bull still look fresh asf.

Also looking less likely to rain, around 50% chance from start to end, very low chance of rain in the AM. I would say nothing conclusive as things can change drastically with the different weather.

This is because after overtaking Piastri Verstappen wasn't really pushing anymore but rather just saving tyres and maintaining/extending the gap at a reasonable level (1s/lap). Before overtaking him he'd be flat or almost flat in eau rouge, but after the overtake he was doing big lifts, up to 20 kmh slower trough high stress corners. He only pushed in low and medium speed corners where degradation is minimal. Oscar was going flatout all the way and I think the longer the race goes the higher the rate gap would extend as wear and degradation would become more prevalent. They also turned down the engine at some point, or at least recovery portion of it.
