Sneek preview of the trophies. What do you think about them? I don't like them.

Looks like someone’s stuck the England football team logo lion on the side of a cup.

Piet Boon also designed this one from 2021.

It's the Lion Rampant from the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Kind of like them. Simple but original. Genuine craftsmanship.

Piet Boon is a successful global designer for exterior, interior and product design, recognized for creating perfectly balanced designs.
He then "designs" a trophy identical to a chalice. I don't think that's a design but a copy.

Yes, but it's the Dutch GP and it's a Dutch royal lion, not an English/British one - even if they look similar.

If there is rain indeed, there is a slight chance of having a mixed race. Otherwise, I can't think of anything other than business as usual.

A chalice is a drinking vessel used in ceremonies. Seems a pretty good choice for a podium ceremony, although in a country that is mostly atheist/agnostic, a Christian drinking vessel might be seen as a slightly odd choice.

Presumably whoever commissioned the trophies is happy with the outcome.

Don't be silly. Lots of trophies are based on a chalice design. A chalice is literally just a bowl on a stand. It can be designed in one of a billion different ways. The devil is in the detail. Shapes, colours, symbols, materials, craftsmanship. Certainly prefer a classic original design to some of these abominations we get to see.Image

Piet Boon is an very highly overrated 'designer' with one good feat; positioning himself well within wannabee-Holland.
Imho there's little "creating perfectly balanced designs", more so copy & pasting proper design.
I'd say he peaked quite a while ago. And ofcourse, there's a base customer idea from the customer, but still .. these trophy's don't stand for simplicity, they stand for laziness.
So, that's off my chest.

As for the weather; seems Sunday afternoon becomes somewhat dryer.
Fri seems to be dry, Sat wet-ish and Sunday as well though a little less wet ..
