Hamilton's long run looked great

Sargeant was almost as quick as Norris on Softs, so would have made sense to add him as well. But so far it looks like the only tyre the Williams works well on.

edit: and in the medium ranking VER is actually PER

16.8 medium tire average for stroll makes you wonder where Alonso where end up. Alonso's hard tire average is already quicker than Stroll's medium run. Aston might be back (at least relative to Mclaren and Mercedes)

Who'd be Ricky Ardo's most likely replacement if he can't drive anymore this weekend?

Lawson and De Vries are both at the track and both are under contract to drive for RB in this sort of isntance. De Vries isn't in RB's plans for the future so they have little desire to give him more experience, but it's not optimal circumstances for Lawson to drive 2023 car / a competitive F1 weekend for the first time given there will have been little preparation.

Latest is:

De Vries would be the safe choice, and you'd think he would be pretty motivated to have a good showing. I doubt Nyck would say no if they asked, so this must be RB wanting to give Lawson a look while also potentially not wanting to entertain going back down the de Vries well. A touch of pride getting in the way maybe?

What’s with all the cottling of Lawson? Maybe he wants to drive! Maybe he is eager to impress!

Also his first weekends in a new series tend to be decent.... p1 f2 debut, p1 DTM debut, p1 Super formula debut

He just arbitrarily removes certain lap times though. Like Lewis drove a 17,5 when his tyres first started to drop. That's an X here. Contrast with Alonso where he keeps a 17.9 from the first lap. You'd think it would be relatively straightforward but you can always make the numbers sing a false tune.

Confirmed by Autosport, direct Marko quote. I think Riccy will be out for Monza too.

No point putting De Vries back in the car. This is an opportunity to somewhat evaluate Lawson without him feeling the pressure of having to beat Tsunoda.
