If it's little to no difference, then there is no reason to invent such strategy.

Some folks here seem to struggle with math.
Cool your jets Djos! We know you're a patriotic Aussie!
Pitting Lando 1 lap earlier had no impact on getting ahead of Albon. Piastri pitting first would have also had no impact either.
Guilty as charged.
For 3 laps after Albon pitted the grap grew to Mclaren, after that it dropped off a cliff and he rapidly closed on us. it is apparent from the strategy that we could have pitted Piastri first and perhaps 1 lap earlier than Norris, 2 laps earlier and it is almost certain to be ahead of Albon. Instead of looking at Piastris race they looked at Norris's ass.Ben1980 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 11:10Pitting Lando 1 lap earlier had no impact on getting ahead of Albon. If they keep this up, they might lose Oscar to another team.
Nobody is shafting Oscar,he is behind Lando in the Championship and the pilot who is first gets first the upgrades.djos wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 02:24McLaren really need to stop shafting Oscar. It’s called the undercut, it’s quite predictable!
What has this to got to do with our updates program ?djos wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 08:59I’m not saying they are biased against Oscar, they are biased towards Lando. Quite different!Ben1980 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 08:55The team does what they think is best for the team. As Stella said, if drivers don't like it, then they aren't thinking about the team. Which would indicate that if they aren't thinking about the team they shouldn't be on the team.
But, I think Oscar knows his position as the rookie, behind his teammate in points and qualifying. He doesn't seem like one to rock the apple cart, at this stage of his career at least.
If anyone thinks they have some anti Oscar agenda in the team, give your head a wobble.
The golden rule of F1 teams has always been to pit the driver in the best on track position first. McLaren hand have actually lost WCC points by favouring Lando to this extent. That’s just a fact.
Btw, AT managed to bring their big upgrade for both drivers, it doesn’t look great that McLaren couldn’t manage this.
Indeed. Mclaren are pushing their development to the limit and bringing updates as soon as they can, not waiting for a pair.mclaren111 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 11:47What has this to got to do with our updates program ?djos wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 08:59I’m not saying they are biased against Oscar, they are biased towards Lando.
