Verstappen has zero chance of winning today, even if they held their usual advantage it's just not possible from P11, I don't understand why it's even being suggested.
If in some weird scenario leaders come up behind him after they pit he'll be overtaken in a lap or two.
He'd need a 2020 monza-like race to win where all top runners have somehow taken themselves out and those races come up once in a decade.
Start on hard tire, go longer than anyone else, lucky safety car, voila.
Still won't work, he'll be 30s behind after 4-5 laps. TBH I think they're so far off the pace they'll be overtaken even in a like for like situation. They're nowhere on straights and in corners that matter for overtaking, mostly in sector 1, whereas ferrari excels here.
Safety cars can have a strange (as in not the expected order) bunching effect, it is possible.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Big Red Bull and Max fan here (previously and still a fan of Seb), but will just enjoy the todays race and will see who will be the new winner of this year. I bet for Sainz or Alonso. Red Bull made a major mistake with the setup, and they cannot go back to the FP3 one. If I was them I would change everything and start at the back. As their car is completely undrivable, this race is over for us before it even started. I would say after 10 wins from Max and with an amazing season we have it will be ok to see something different. Expecting some safety cars or red flags as well. It could be chaos in T1.

I have a unsettling feeling that F1 will bend over for RedBull for them to maintain their winning streak for the record books.

Remember the red flag in Jedha 2021? Something fabricated like that.

Great post. Snipped a bit off streamline reply, I do wonder how the safety cars will be officiated here.

Charles might be dangerous at the start then with those soft tyres. George probably will have to defend like mad during sector 1.
