What was last 10 lap pace of Max compared to both Merc? if it was similar or thereabout then if the Ocon stop on track was a full SC then I am sure Max had a super chance of pulling this off.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:09I'm still a bit worried that the RB19 still showed massive pace mid-race.. Erm.. But at least we know it bleeds red blood. We can kill it.
Maybe not. It's expensive now...
George binned it trying to pass Norris desperately. Hamilton wasnt even on his mind. The fact that Hamilton would have won it IF George wasnt there shows that it did the opposite of aging badly imo. George was there for the win and threw it, Hamilton never was.djones wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:06I agree it aged badly.
George setting things up and concentrating on a Saturday as always. But 9/10 has an average race at best.
Hamilton gained 5 seconds on him and would have won that race.
Lewis closed down a 5s gap from George after the double-stack stop. Both in free air.napoleon1981 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:21George binned it trying to pass Norris desperately. Is this a "George binning it was the fault of Toto/Hamilton"?bluechris wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:24Why Hamilton was pushing so bad Russell? I don't see anyone here discussing this. To me the mistake of Russell is for a big percent because Hamilton wasn't giving to the guy that air to breath to attack on Norris. They run on different teams? For me it was huge mistake from the team and especially from Toto.
George had a shot for the win, and Hamilton never did. Exactly. Closing a gap on a circuit like this doesnt mean anything. Btw the 5s gap wasnt closed in free air.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:25Lewis closed down a 5s gap from George after the double-stack stop. George binned it. Exactly.

Ham watched lap after lap to see that George was not capable of either passing Lando or matching his pace so he pressed because he wanted a podium.bluechris wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:24Why Hamilton was pushing so bad Russell? That's unrelated. Russel binned it because he got mesmerized by Lando's gearbox. Tgat happens on street tracks.bluechris wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:24Why Hamilton was pushing so bad Russell? Russell overheated his rears, Hamilton did nothing wrong or out of the ordinary. The only mistake(tiny misplacement of the wheel, big consequence in the race) was from Russellbluechris wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 16:24Why Hamilton was pushing so bad Russell?
