Class from Alpine, fair play....
Yeah they owned that one, kudos to Alpine lol
From the car thread. I posed a thought a while back about how much time there was left in this car, given how much they'd extracted and the law of diminishing returns.CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 19:21Another write up on Mclarens latest changes

For all his great contributions to the team, Seidl really undid all that by letting Key run amok, unchecked and without consequences.CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 19:27According to Stella they haven’t even changed 50% of the MCL60 they want to….. and they still won’t be able to implement the full 100% of changes on the 2024 car !

Do you mind posting the Motorsport article equivalent in the future? It's the same article by the same company just usually when it shows up on motorsport.com it isn't behind a paywall like all of autosport articles.CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 19:27According to Stella they haven’t even changed 50% of the MCL60 they want to….. and they still won’t be able to implement the full 100% of changes on the 2024 car !

I’ve been swamped with meetings this week, haven’t had a chance to do much… But even though your argument has been very compelling (and probably right), I still want to look at itmwillems wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 20:19Ahahahaha I knew when I wrote that you'd pop up! Great job by the Team to secure him, one less thing to worry about in the short term and maintain focus on developing the car and sustain the upward trajectory!
But hey wants a detail or two round here!
Well they didn't swap him at Singapore and they gave him a contract this week, so clearly they listened.
Anyway, where's that white paper you owe me!
I don't need to be right, it's enough that the perspective is valid, I don't want to keep the success criteria too tight!!SmallSoldier wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 21:25I’ve been swamped with meetings this week, haven’t had a chance to do much… But even though your argument has been very compelling (and probably right), I still want to look at itmwillems wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 20:19Ahahahaha I knew when I wrote that you'd pop up! Looking at the full quote, I don't think that article title or interpretation is quite on the money...CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 19:27According to Stella they haven’t even changed 50% of the MCL60 they want to….. and they still won’t be able to implement the full 100% of changes on the 2024 car !

I see it as the not being able to change 50% thing refers specifically to component changes that will help cure their low speed limitation, not things in general on the car“I think we have gained a good understanding of where the limitations in low speed are coming from,” he said. “They have to do with some mechanical aspects and some aerodynamic aspects.
“On the aerodynamic side, that package we have here has addressed a portion of these limitations but actually there's still quite a lot of work to do.
“I will say that from the car we had in Bahrain, with the improvement in Baku, then in Austria, and then here, we haven't even achieved the 50% of where we would like the aerodynamic behaviour to be to solve these sorts of issues.
I'll take any money coming my way I wish though. Yea I don't bother checking autosport anymore because it's usually free on Motorsport.....weird marketing tactic if you ask meCjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 21:05Are you on commission for motorsport.comtrinidefender wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 20:42Do you mind posting the Motorsport article equivalent in the future? I’m loving the paywall articles today though.
But yea I’ll see if it’s on motorsport.com before I post. I forget Autosport have that ‘20 reads a week thingy’
This is my understanding as well.organic wrote: ↑21 Sep 2023, 03:13Looking at the full quote, I don't think that article title or interpretation is quite on the money...CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2023, 19:27According to Stella they haven’t even changed 50% of the MCL60 they want to….. and they still won’t be able to implement the full 100% of changes on the 2024 car !
