You don't think the raised floor edge and diffuser throat might have affected the high speed perfomance?dialtone wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 08:58Compare Ferrari against itself last year. Drivers are just not taking risks.
Ferrari won't be on pole and won't win, but it's not bad at all.
Test C2 has more grip than the one that will be used this weekend in the race though. Again, I don't dare of a race win, but a podium(maybe P2) would be very nice, especially on a track that theoretically should not suit us.F1NAC wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 08:58Yup. Just as I submitted post, saw Leclerc starting to lose a bit more time than Verstappen but he recovered a bit. In general I think it looks good.
I don't think so, obviously possible though but I choose optimism.scuderiabrandon wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 09:02You don't think the raised floor edge and diffuser throat might have affected the high speed perfomance?
FPs went better than expected, but usually the other teams make a big jump from Friday to Saturday so let's wait and see. Being close to podium pace would be really good considering the track.SoulPancake13 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 09:05Test C2 has more grip than the one that will be used this weekend in the race though. We seem to be closer than expected to our rivals. We tried different solutions on my car to get a little better feeling in terms of balance, and I am satisfied with the results. We need to confirm on these levels tomorrow as well.

In the first sector, we can really "appreciate" how limited the SF 23 really is. The speed that RB drivers can carry through the fast corners is really something.
Leclerc was slower in the first sector compared to his lap in FP3 last year. Maybe different fuel loads and conditions, but still.

This is crazy by the way. Unreal difference.
Probably, but i expected worse here as well, so who knows.scuderiabrandon wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 10:57qatar will be disastrousXyz22 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 09:28FPs went better than expected, but usually the other teams make a big jump from Friday to Saturday so let's wait and see. According to some he tried different configurations (was it on fp1 or fp2? I forgot) that didn't work and reverted.organic wrote: ↑22 Sep 2023, 10:45Very positive from Leclerc

Curious though, Charles had the new floor in FP1, Carlos had the new floor in FP2. Looking at just the times, the car with the older floor was ahead in both practices.
