Less emphasis is put on floor generated DF!GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑21 Oct 2023, 00:27Also, warm temps and big wing requirements just seem to make the merc come alive in general.
it got progressively worse each year.
Ferrari won’t win the race but was very good through the lap and belonged there for sure. Car looked very good through the esses as well considering the lower DF setup and even their used tire attempts were good.Hammerfist wrote:Holy moly fabrega turned out to be right about aston martin at this track. Hate sprint weekends because you know the order is not really representative. Great job charles for sticking it on pole. i dont think the ferrari belonged there at all. It shall be evident tomorrow and sunday me thinks.
It's weird because Ferrari have had a good qualifying car but a horrible race car for a lot of his time there..
First half of last season the car was good on both but had reliability issues with the engine. Then the car was compromised by TD39 and still is. If the car is on pole in a season where the RB19 is around with Max, it belonged there.deadhead wrote:It's weird because Ferrari have had a good qualifying car but a horrible race car for a lot of his time there..
or one could also say that this is what happens when you sometimes put cars on pole that don't belong there.
How does race pace earn someone a qualifying position?
Yeah. It sure would make things more interesting if they got rid of parc ferme and were allowed to make set-up changes between quali and the race.....Hammerfist wrote: ↑21 Oct 2023, 01:10Holy moly fabrega turned out to be right about aston martin at this track. What the hell happened there?

Nope, but thanks for trying again with a baseless oneliner..PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑21 Oct 2023, 05:42Q3 is what happens when the cars are equal and drivers feel the pressure.
Congrats to Leclerc.
Hopefully you can recognize the credibility of said article goes to zero the moment you read the second sentence...Alexf1 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2023, 06:41Nope, but thanks for trying again with a baseless oneliner..PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑21 Oct 2023, 05:42Q3 is what happens when the cars are equal and drivers feel the pressure.
Congrats to Leclerc.
On the other end of that spectrum: https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/mark ... at-austin/
Obviously not, if Max didn't leave track he wasn't going to gain those 0.005 that he beat LEC to pole with.Without Max Verstappen’s deleted final Q3 lap (due to track limits at Turn 19) it would have been on pole regardless
