Alonso:
"It has been a good day. We have concentrated on long runs and race pace with a lot of fuel. Tomorrow we will go for performance and see where we are."
Krack:
"We try to fix everything with the new upgrades, and we will do some small items to test these upgrades and for 2024 development."
"We had a good feeling in the car and tried to find out more about the new aero package. We focused a lot on the long runs, lots of fuel in the car all day, today we didn't look at lap times, so we'll see where we are tomorrow."
Wish we knew how much fuel they had so we could extrapolate. Alonso's long run times compared to Norris were 1.2-1.5s slower, think it was roughly 0.3s per 10kg if I'm not mistaken. But it's true it's not a good long run pace. We'll see if they really have more tomorrow.

Fernando on his fast lap attempt on the soft tyre made a mistake at turn 12 when he was running two and a half tenths slower than Max after the 2nd sector, it was a similar mistake to Norris. Not bad but still too early to judge.
I was wondering if it was wet...

My theory in the mud

using old rear wing to collect data from the rear as they know exactly how that wing behaves?
It's for the floor, rear brake ducts and all that stuff. Nothing to do with the wing. The wing is just holding it.
Indeed. My point is that which wing you have on will affect the flow through the floor, rear brake ducts etc.

They use the wing they're very familiar with the aero characteristics of to remove the rear wing variable from this
Right, like you said, they have simulator data of all the rear wings so they can substitute the other rear wing data. Think they used this rear wing cause of the strength and it's been replaced with a better wing.

New cooling it seems

That's some new cooling, but how come it didn't appear in the FIA update list? Did they bring it to a previous race?

If you are confident that you are quick you save a third set medium/hards. AMR did not…

Didn't they only do 1 lap as usual scrubbing them?

They are using a medium set now and since this upgrades STR seems suddenly quicker. Strange things happen…

Aston Martin changing the setup of Fernando's car: front axle, ride heights and third spring. It was clear he wasn't comfortable, hopefully this works

Oh dear. Is he actually slower than Lance with the setup as is? Maybe just adopt Lance's setup for quali or something

They already brought it to Miami, that’s why it didn’t appear on the FIA document

Updates are bad is one thing. But they never seem to improve car for Saturday sessions like most other teams

Car is looking dreadful. At least Stroll has a good chance of qualifying ahead for once.

I'm hoping for a surprise during qualifying today but nothing so far this weekend has shown either cars making it out of Q1.
