A SC at the right time or Sainz simply fights back faster with their much better topspeed and WCC is doable.

They need to make a competitive car for Charles.

We can say the car is about where it was in 2022 compared to RB car. That's not too bad, all things considered. Developed longer than RB, but started so far back and it was improved significantly over the season. This did not happen in Ferrari since 2009, I am fairly certain.

I want to say bad luck for Sainz, but he simply had to improve a lot more on that second lap. Points are on the table and a SC will help for sure, as long as it doesn't come too soon

In quali, yes. In the race i don't think is going to be the case.

"Right before the testing session in Bahrain, during the last few sim sessions, Leclerc was shocked (negatively). There was a huge difference from the previous performance targets."

I touched on this a few days ago. The truth is coming out slowly. The car has always been bad, they were not honest about it at the start of the season.

… and goodbye P2 in the Constructors Championship.
Hang on, Hamilton doesn't want it either, lol.

Should Sainz take a new PU, with the Monza mappings?
Changing setup and engine may be a good idea given his qualifying position.

Oh common Carlos, enough with excusses, you went out so late to get the most of rubbered-in track and it backfired...

The car did improve, consistency, pace and tire usage towards the end.

not horrible I guess but not sure if its representative. The car will struggle tomorrow, just like every other Sunday besides last weekend.

„Ferrari may be forced to skip Abu Dhabi GP amid budget cap concerns after Las Vegas damage repair cost“

Very shoddy attempt at journalism
Yea, turned out to be bad journalism.

But to be honest, in case of another big crash in Abu Dhabi free practice (which Sainz came close to) I would have considered doing exactly that if I was Ferrari. Or I would have not even built a new spare chassis just for Abu Dhabi after Las Vegas. What are the odds of having another chassis damaging crash at Abu Dhabi? Ferrari wants that P2 in WCC at any cost it seems. Or are the teams obliged to have a spare part?

Going to hards just kills the pace, Leclerc can no longer stay with Max and is now under threat from Russell, despite his hards being fresher.
Sainz was just uber slow.
And Ferrari saved 2 sets for the race, didn't even occur to them to try 2 mediums.

Medium you need too much management i think. We would struggle in any case as the others would perform well on the hards.
