Going to hards just kills the pace, Leclerc can no longer stay with Max and is now under threat from Russell, despite his hards being fresher.
Sainz was just uber slow.
And Ferrari saved 2 sets for the race, didn't even occur to them to try 2 mediums.
Medium you need too much management i think. We would struggle in any case as the others would perform well on the hards.
Charles did almost 20 laps with a heavy car, when the track was at it's hottest.

Yeah, but what about the pace? That's an important thing. We don't know if you can do 20 laps at the same pace you can do them with the hards.

I mean… there was legit a chance for Sainz to score some points today. But no, leave him out with a few laps left and finish nowhere. 9th/10th was possible…

Sort of sums up the Ferrari strategy team this season.

That being said, Sainz sort of cost the chance for 3rd in the standings by getting knocked out in Q1, yet Ferrari really could’ve made a much better end result of this.

We won't be able to judge because we haven't seem a Ferrari on mediums with that fuel load.

Sainz was slow sadly, he was slower then Stroll, so if he goes normal Hard-Hard-Medium stint as Stroll did, he would have finished 11. behind Stroll.

No real chance for any "fight" for WCC P2 with just one car, Sainz was abysmal today. I didn't expect him to drop the ball so hard and let Leclerc pass him in WDC. It's better for Ferrari that they finished P3, they made 2 steps back this season and getting P2 would have hidden it. No excuses this way.

Great race by Leclerc, solid pace, RB was again better on Hards but the pace on Mediums was unexpectedly strong for this type of track.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

There is the possibility he would come alive a little bit on mediums, horrible performance.
I heard the track was remmended at that point so no need to raise the car or anything, i really don't get what was wrong with Carlos this weekend.

Amazing stuff from Leclerc, honestly expected to fall behind Mercedes and McLaren. Lets hope for better 2024 and hoping they can fight for P1 so at least the ejaculation over Verstappen’s records are justifiable.

Unlike all cars since 2009, SF-23 was consistently and substantially improved since its launch. The pace since Japan is by far the best since launch and the tyre management didn't suffer for it. Valuable lessons (re)learned for 676 project and easily the most room for improvement of the top 5 cars. Good job by the engineers, good job by Cardille!
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Definitely encouraging. It certainly helps that the team doesn't seem to be relying on various gray interpretations of the rulebook for performance

I believe sainz asked for a second stint on hards and to hope for a safety car. At least from onboards anyway. He also lacked pace in general though.

The SF 23 is not an easy car. It can happen to have a bad weekend. The issue was the Q1 elimination quali.

In any event, the pace on the mediums was a great surprise in a track like Abu Dhabi.

yeah, he looked slower than Stroll on the first stint as well, who came 10th with H-H-M. And going by Bottas result, a H-M 1-stopper wasn't really the prime strategy either.
