Seems MBS is looking to become even more authoritarian. I personally think its about time for him to go bye bye.

May be he would be loved by everyone if he did a "secret" pact with Mercedes, like his predecessor did with Ferrari in 2019, instead of trying to address Conflict of interest matters and fix abusive behaviour of drivers and team principals. :D

McLaren chief executive Zak Brown has called for a ban on common ownership in Formula 1 in a thinly-veiled attack on Red Bull.

In an open letter published on Thursday evening, Brown called for the "unhealthy situation" to be addressed. While he did not mention Red Bull or sister team AlphaTauri by name, they are the only two teams in F1 who share owners.
Interesting position to take. Wonder any other teams will join him in this.

Why is it a problem now and not in the past?

You'd have to ask Brown (and Vassuer, it seems, ( https://www.planetf1.com/news/fred-vass ... -situation )).

It's seemingly the forthcoming changes to AT where it is basically going to use everything allowed in the rule book from Red Bull. That, potentially, allows the combined team to focus two lots of cap-limit resources on, effectively, one car (or as near as the rules allow).

It's opening salvo stuff aimed at making sure the FIA don't/can't "forget" to check stuff, I guess. Team politics.

Nothing the FIA dont already check anyways. They check teams are making their own designs/bodywork throughout.

No different to Haas using most of Ferrari's parts and very very similar bodywork. How convenient huh?

Maybe some of the teams are scared AT will make a good chunk of progress if they use a RB gearbox, suspension and powerunit.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Formula 1 UNLEASHED: The Ultimate Journey Through Time!

.
Formula 1, a sport like no other. This isn’t just about pushing the limits of human ability; it’s about bending physics and chemistry to man kind's will.

03:07:41 Conclusion

Exploration and experimentation, the twin pillars of human progress, have driven us from the first flicker of fire to the monumental moon landing. It's this unquenchable thirst for discovery and the urge to push boundaries that has carved our path through history. This quest led us to conquer oceans, delve deep into the earth, spark the industrial revolution, and ultimately, give birth to the combustion engine.

The dawn of the combustion engine brought about new possibilities. The horseless carriage, as cars were first known, was slower than walking at first. Just a toy for rich men with more money than sense. In England, from 1865 to 1896, you had to have someone walk in front of you waving a red flag to warn horse riders and people walking that you were coming. For years they were impractical, unreliable, and far more expensive than a horse and carriage, but that wouldn’t last for long.
But now times have changed and so did the perception of people about cars.

How did we go from horse carriages to racing multi-million-dollar vehicles on track? Well, watch till the end to find out more.

the video is a falsification of Europe's motor-sport history - to suit the new American ownership of F1
and there is no such thing as the combustion engine - that is a 21st century falsification (of European origin)

from the start of GP racing (the 1900s) the cars were fuel-quantity limited
from 1914 till 1927 the cars were capacity-limited - 4.5 litres, then 3 litres. then 2 litres, then 1.5 litres
(and again from 1938 as the video admits)

F1 didn't start anything
apart from being a ban on the invincible prewar cars of Germany and Italy
for 3 years F1 existed but there was no WDC or anything
the WDC (as we know it) started with F1 - but then abandoned F1 for F2

the industrial revolution gave us the steam engine (steam for agricultural use then spreading to road use)
then steam became classified as external-combustion to distinguish it from (internal-combustion) oil and gas engines
this all before 'horseless carriage' cars

the correct term was and still is 'heat engine'
heat engines old or new with internal combustion, external combustion with or without steam , or with no combustion
