RB20 speculation

The cockpit position, or better say the monocoque geometry chosen by RB, influences and interacts with many things, even the SIPS position, and including the forward section of the boat (it's the middle section that is baggy)... it's a whole ecosystem that RB exploits fully and completes it with some unique packaging tricks : )

And we didnt need to wait until monaco 2023 to see that floor. In Melbourne 2022 we saw this

I knew of the Australia photo at the time but didn't post it to stay in Adrian's good graces.

It doesn't seem that too many people saw the Melbourne photo because there was a great hullabaloo about Monaco. At times I feel F1 is theater. Any serious F1 team would have dissected the RB long before Monaco.

Not sure why people are still obssessing with boat section width, it's been much wider than the tub on every car since 2022, it's how you introduce lateral curvature to the floor and maximise the suction on the floor roof. Cockpit (and roll hoop) being fore or aft does not influence this, but if I recall it does influence the leading edge of the floor and Mercedes wanted to maximise floor length by pushing the cockpit forward

Mercedes went on full attack with their concept - "maximise everything" and then kept peeling the onion over two years to dial back piece by piece, which predictably led to the conclusion 'we started wrongly'.
RedBull went the other way - held it back to begin with, and then slowly 'added' performance.

Higher engine cover channels, sort of like W14. Undercut looks pretty massive. Hint of a channel too.

Definitely not RB19 on these videos. The engine cover is the giveaway.

Just some quick sharpness and dehazing on the phone, looks like the new car in my view. Looks like gulleys on top of engine cover and waterslides and slightly tighter bodywork around the PU. Undercut equal to or bigger than final RB19 spec.

From every angle I've used there is no sign of the floor edge wing

Look closely at the sidepod inlet. Does that look like a massive lower lip of shiny carbon? Looks absolutely huge and super high. Almost in line with the upper edge of the chassi.
