I don’t think you can just isolate it like that. If you don’t have the grip/df on the rear axle then you HAVE to balance it with the appropriate df level of the front wing. Potentially they’ve solved front issues with the altered suspension layout too.

If I had to hazard a guess, Cl / Cd (lift over drag or in F1 terms df / d) is the one area the RB20 excels in. Think most teams can easily match them on load but that’s where we are losing out big time on the RB

Does anyone know if this is still wet at this point? I’m no aero expert but it looks really strange to me towards the rear of the sidepod. The flow vis lines curve and then go straight down without an obvious downwashing element. Could this be aided by a combination of suction at the mouse hole and the vortex generated at the mid-wing?

The air seems to make quite a bend down on the back end of the sidepod. Not sure if that is totally desireable. Slow speed performance in the technical S2 section seems pretty good! So possibly suspension kinematics working better this year

It may do a bit more than other teams but if you look carefully you’ll notice that the picture is taken from a wider angle looking slightly in meaning any wing endplate angle that is there looks more pronounced

Is there a reason ours and Mercedes rear wings are a bit thicker on the two side edges, especially in comparison to Red Bull?

I remember that he was driving very slow, which is not normal during flow-vis test.

It was definitely intentional. He did a whole lap on the pitspeed limiter (100kph). It makes sense to me, the flow of air changes as speed increases. If you want to verify what is happening at low speed, you do a low speed flow-viz run.

wasnt that clutch problems related, that he did the whole lap in 2nd gear?
