This is probably a really stupid question, but how long does cement that is likely 15cm+ deep take to set fully?

I'm assuming they used quick set cement which would take a few hours at most. Normal high strength cement in that hot climate should be good in 3-4 days time.

Veritasium on youtube has a good video on cement actually. Highly suggested as there’s a lot of surprising facts about it.

Cemented the drain covers as no rain is forecast (I'm sure this can't possibly go wrong)

I'm usually not a betting person, but if it is possible I'm going to bet my life savings (which isn't much) that this concrete won't hold when these vacuum cleaners hit the track.

We just had some 1m square (18” deep) and we could walk on it the next day. Car traffic after 3 days not a bother.

It rained during a practice session for the FIA WEC round in Bahrain last year.

It was a monsoon some weeks ago for F2 pre season test. Possible rain is forecasted for tomorrow, nothing for the weekend.

28.8 - 29.0, no faster. C4 tyre was OP in testing.

The cars will be fine driving over that as long as they aren't red.

You use cement as a mixture for concrete. Concrete dries quick, but the hardness is usually achieved after 28 days.
I'm sorry for the offtopic.

:D

Seriously...there is ~2cm concrete over a metal drain cover? They did not remove the drain cover but just smeared the top with concrete??? Looks like a standard solution from India or Pakistan...but I highly doubt that this holds anything.
I hope this picture is not what I read into it.

To me it looks like cover is underneath cement. This in their theory should hold it in place? Looks like patching :D
