If Merc is back this is a scenario written by Liberty and Netflix.

Some of you lot are terrified of Mercedes being fast its quite amusing meanwhile real racing fans are excited about potentially seeing an actual race at the front for the first time in 2 years
You have 24 more hours of potential excitement before qualy washed all of it away.

Maybe Merc and Red Bull are running rake? Couple other cars that are running on the floor but they don't have sparks flying, but you can see smoke and other bits from the plank dragging along the floor.

VER is lapping mid 36s, HAM/RUS/SAI/LEC/PIA in high 36s.

Merc doing glory runs on full engine power?
They just look to be fast. Fingers crossed its real so we can actually see a race for the first time in 2 years.
Careful, it's the hope that kills you.

Max def seems to have a slight edge in long runs so far. Merc able to do mid 36. Max can do low to mid 36. Very close though.

Just like Leia in Rogue One said, they've sent us hope!

Merc and Ferrari starting to suffer on these long runs. Dropping over half a second in S2. Hamilton dropped off big time. Sainz also losing chunks of time.

Piastri’s long run is very strong.

Last year very often Red Bull were edged in qualifying but shaded the opposition in the race. So far it looks like more of the same judging from long run pace so far.
