Some of you lot are terrified of Mercedes being fast its quite amusing meanwhile real racing fans are excited about potentially seeing an actual race at the front for the first time in 2 years
You have 24 more hours of potential excitement before qualy washed all of it away.
It was you who brought this up

Merc and Ferrari starting to suffer on these long runs. Dropping over half a second in S2.
Max will win at a canter IMO. He has 0 degradation. Hamilton's softs are cooked after 8 laps, RUS is now >0.5s/lap slower.

Considering that Verstappen is not satisfied with the setup, and still doing the fastest race sim laps, it's safe to assume, that once Red Bull finds the right setup, Verstappen will be comfortably ahead of everyone.

If Piastri’s pace is anything to go by, Mclaren is ahead of both Ferrari and Merc on long runs.

Yeah looking like the Mercs have got a car that can somewhat hang on to the coattails of the RB but melts its tyres. Think Max can be calm knowing he is favourite for Saturday.

is this a race tire at all, though? Most cars will mainly be on hards, I think, so deg should make less of a difference.

Yeah, I’m waiting for the “Hamilton starting to regret going to Ferrari” news articles

Hamilton just did a 1:37:4 on his 12th lap, commentators suggested he was doing some cool down laps when he dipped into the low 39's

Crofty said 12, but I thought the graphic was indicating 15.

And Russell just did a 1.37.3 on his last lap (12 laps in). Mercs don't seem to be the tire munchers that initially was feared.

So it's more or less clear on long runs.
1. Red Bull
2. Mercedes
3. Ferrari
4. McLaren/Aston
6. Haas
7. RB
8. Williams
9. Sauber
10. Alpine

That's still 5-7 tenths slower than what Max achieved at the same time in their stint.

Even if Max starts P3-P4, he's easily going to win.
