Funny how differently we interpret low speed trap values depending on whose car it is.
RB is slow on straights: "they're running 5 cylinders out of 6!"
Ferrari is slow on straights: could they have built a brick?

Ferrari started the season using mappings that were less pushed than those exploited in testing, especially in the (short) race simulation at the end of FP2. In testing, on the other hand, the PU was squeezed pretty hard in race simulations to extract important data on tyre consumption. The engine currently mounted on the SF-24 will have to run ~5,000 km compared to 2250 km in testing

There's nothing funny about it, the likes of Red Bull could turn up with no forward gears and the pundits would still estimate them to bee a second ahead of the pack

There is always an inherent bias from people and "experts" when they judge teams like Red Bull, they often fail to judge what they are seeing and judge based on the recent past.

I think people have to remember Red Bull are still learning their new car too. I think qualy will be quite close, maybe Charles pole tbh.

In fairness so are Ferrari, Mercedes (they have also made some significant changes) and probably one or two others...

Hence the word "too" ;)

50% chance they are closer, 99% chance they are further ahead
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Not if they weren't running "massively" detuned during the test

3 tenths to start the season would be very nice compared to last season... that's us out developing by 0.5 seconds roughly.

I wouldn’t use the term “outdevelop” when teams have such a different baseline. Performance gets harder to come by the more refined your car is.

Depends on what Ferrari ACTUALLY considered RB pace is, we all "know" only what they want us to "know"

Not long enough and we will find out what’s what. :)

I’m cautiously optimistic and predict a Charles pole. In the race behind RedBull, but much less than last year, 0.3 would be absolutely amazing for a start.
The long runs yesterday were pretty encouraging once again.

Massively suspicious sector 1 performance.
