If Ferrari has yet to turn up their PU - arguably the best on the grid - I don't think we can make much of these times yet.

Mercedes has come back to Earth, a bit (relative to yesterday). McLaren looks quite quick but likely running a relatively higher PU setting than Ferrari.

Getting better rotation through low-speed corners would be nice, but I'd rather have a stable car that does well through medium/high-speed corners and treats its tires well, than a car that thrives in low-speed corners but is unstable, unpredictable, and devours its tires.

Lando was on an absolute flyer but didn’t open his DRS in S3. Would’ve likely gone to the top. Going to be a dogfight in a few hours.
Also made a mistake in the last corner, but yeah he was 0.3s faster.
Can’t go by mistakes too much. LEC made mistakes in T2, T4 and last corner. Will have to judge later.

Oh for sure. Moreover, track conditions should change quite a bit coming qualifying.

This session has not been very useful in the past.

For now it seems the car is lacking a bit in low speed, including huge braking zones.

He mentioned he had a hard time seeing that last corner because of the sun. It'll [hopefully] be much better come qualifying.

The car is described as having a lazy front end on low fuel. I am not surprised.

Eh. Long runs he's been 1-2 tenths clear of Sainz so not too worried. Ferrari did say they had work to do in terms of the setup in slow speed and qualy. It was also FP3 and he never got to put in a representative lap yesterday.

It is only in low speed. Otherwise, both drivers are getting snaps of oversteer. It's clear from onboards that the front end is not a limitation imo. Plus, it is Bahrain, so you have to protect rears, the setups are all likely a little more understeery anyways.

Why would Charles do another run on new softs? Why scrub those up?

He went back into pits.
