Can anyone explain me, how on Earth Hamilton lap was so bad, it is completely bad compared to yesterday, did team changed setup on Lewis car?

He did his run a lot earlier than everyone else, so not really representative

Hamilton was in 7th only after finishing his run, so it's not like all those cars leapfrogged him by running later. It was mainly a bad lap.

He lost something like 2 tenths in the final corner. He would have been roughly a tenth behind Russell otherwise.

I think it’s maybe more important to Merc to know they have a solid platform to develop through he season than almost anything they can achieve this race something they really have not achieved the last 2 years

It's going to be so close, I just can't wait.
Race pace is everything but you still need need to qualify well, even if you are faster than the cars ahead it's easy to get caught in a DRS train, you could loose a lot of time in that first stint.

If Red Bull, Aston Martin, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes are all within a tenth, this qualy would be huge. I don't think Max has the pace advantage to get out of a DRS train if he starts 7th or below(not likely but just interesting!)

on German Sky, Toto just said that they tried different setups in FP3 to fix yesterday's long run issues. So that likely explains the difference between the two drivers.
