All first sector.
Is it me or does RB/Max have way better traction out of corners?

I can't really see that Leclerc made a mistake in T1-T3. It's just slower than Verstappen.

Yuki outperformed Daniel in the first quali of the year. It seems, Yuki is going to save Perez's seat at RB.
Or beat Ricciardo comfortably so that he can earn the seat at Red Bull. Tsunoda's issues weren't with outright pace per say. It was the more intangible things.

After this qualifying, I'm pretty sure, still not 100 percent, but I completely understand Hamilton's decision to move to Ferrari. I have almost no doubt why he will drive for Ferrari next season.
I dunno, the car he's jumping into (Sanz's) still finished behind Russell. Clearly the Mercedes car was capable for 3rd.

Looking at the lap-times is a bit crazy compared to 2023. RB19 would get P9.

Haas is only a tenth away from pole of last year.

One would expect that a car that was so victorious would have a bigger margin.....

Imagine if Steiner was fired years ago where HAAS would be today.🤯
The car was literally designed under his leadership
Yes, but now an actual Leader is operating it, and quickly showing where the real failure in the team was.

So it looks like everyone set up for qualifying but Mercedes setup for the race.

I don't like how they make it seem like no one else focuses on the race.

I mean, its their first time ever racing a car actually designed to work properly in these new ground effect regs. They've never done a quali session or race with a car that can actually run like these cars are supposed to run (without getting DQ'd for plank wear). By mid season they'll have learned quite a lot and possibly have more headroom than others for improvement based on the fact that they're almost at square one.

some statistics, Verstappen's best first sector without slipstreams is 28.686, if we add his best sectors to this we get - 1:29.329, which is only 0.1 better than the others, also Leclerc did not collect a lap and Hamilton, I think with settings from fp2, I think the same Yesterday I would have been ahead of Russell by about the same 0.2 and could have easily fought for pole, this is my opinion

With the cold temps there is possibility that Hard become a lot worse than soft tyres in race. Remains to be seen what everyone will use

This explains the Mercedes situation then.

Hamilton should be strong tomorrow but I think he’s a bit too far back to make much progress.

With these quali times, race launch is going to be a MASSIVE differentiator. Do we know who may be strong in that area?

We could actually see them go 5-6 wide into the braking for turn 1 with how close they are.

This looks like the best setup that ive seen in F1 to have 30 overtakes in the first 10 laps.

If 2024 converges further, they need to just freeze the Formula.

Based on pre-season testing, Ferrari and RBR will be very strong in race trim. I think the race will be between Ferrari and RBR. Perhaps Charles, Max, and Carlos will be on podium tomorrow.

With LH leaving for Ferrari and GR qualifying ahead of LH, will Merc prioritize GR's race strategy?
