I dont think there will be a single pole this year, one fix ruins the other and its never ending.
As if these poles served anything other than helping people discredit Charles as a quali merchant.

Ferrari is 1 year and half behind Red Bull.

The last year car was a disaster with high peak load that was working only in specific tracks. The RB19 was not dominant in qualifying, this is why they were able to get a few poles here and there.

Bucking the trend, I wasn't overly impressed with Bearman. Over cooked into S1 too many times, and the whole decision to put him in the car seemed very short sighted.

Ferrari lost 2nd in the WCC by only 3 points last year because of these short sighted decisions.

They messed with Bearman's F2 campaign for no gain.

If he has a good race tomorrow, that will mean much more than whatever points he could achieve if he was racing in F2 this weekend.

there probably no hope for Gio or Robert to make it into f1, but Bearman being eyed on being in f1 one day. so, I guess it gives ferrari clear picture of his performance.

Ferrari have the sim data on Bearman, Schwartzman and Gio. They might have bet on Bearman's potential but if he was way worse in tests and in the Sim they wouldn't have put him in. I like the gamble, they will see what they have.

Looking at the data. The increased wing looks to have hurt the overall top speed as predicted.

Still don’t think it’s a bad decision overall as the car looked competitive in race trim and stability. Likely would have been compromised with a lower DF setup

I just don't think you get how hard it is to drive a car for the first time ever in such a competitive grid... yes he's going to make mistakes, but ultimately for Ferrari, P2 or P3 in WCC matters little compared to having a driver who they feel could replace Lewis one day.

This car is where the RB18 was in 2022, which is not bad, but a pole position will be hard to achieve this year. Bahrain was extremely close, so not impossible..

Yes I think 2nd on the grid with the amount of DF they thought neccesery for the race is a good outcome.

Anyone saying Bearman wasn't impressive is taking potent psychadelics.

Leclerc looked pretty good as usual although I don't think he's completely comfortable with the car just yet. 7 straight front rows apparently.

Analysis by Albano below. Ferrari best through high-speed, strong front-end; Aston best in traction zones, strong rear-end; RBR/Verstappen strong everywhere. Seems the traction/acceleration edge Ferrari had last season has faded, but they're much stronger in medium/high-speed and treat their tires very well. I'm curious how tomorrow's race will go.

Translated: Cross-referencing the data of #Leclerc #Verstappen and #Alonso you can see what has taken away the performance of #Ferrari : the rear is somewhat weak. Maybe this is why they left with more load, but Leclerc is very strong in all braking phases, when he leans on the front end, but suffers terribly in traction, when he needs the strong rear end. This destroys the forward acceleration which then costs those tenths (and also explains why the gap grows linearly and not quadratically). Alonso's #AstonMartin , on the contrary, is really strong in traction and thus finds the super performance seen in qualifying. I put the arrows on the map because it is really clear that in braking and insertion it is almost always red, in traction it is almost always green. For everything else there is Max who is going strong everywhere. The race will have more "attenuated" sensations, we will see if the behavior of the cars will be the same or how it will change.
