BMW Sauber strong enough?

Post

Sauber has proven that they can stay mid-field with their low budget. Does anyone think BMW Sauber combo is strong enough to race for podiums?
Or do they also need a tech genius like Newey, Willis, or Gascoyne to work with BMW to be real champs?

Good point, maybe Sauber may need a high tech guru in the same manner that worked for Toyota. It appears Gascoyne was the one factor to help put Toyota into genuine contention.
But Sauber is supposed to have the best wind tunnel now, and in F1 that is very important. I also expect that BMW will use Sauber for it's long range plans, and hope (if) Williams can carry the BMW banner to the victory podium in '06. In the grand scheme of things for BMW, '05 and '06 will have to be development and rebuilding years.
But Sauber will need a few more key personnell to get to the top, especially in drivers.

In the past there's been a lot of talk about Newey leaving McLaren, and that was to Jaguar!

If BMW come looking surely they can prise him away, if Jag were close then BMW should have no problem.
Check this out. Amazing new band
