Yeah my God sperm flying all over about Bearman and his dad

Boo hoo hoo.
Unwatchable for merc fans apparently, but this is certainly no worse than peak MB years. At least there are more battles in the rest of the field, and less cars lapped than back then.
I hope for some more exciting races later on, but this is far from how bad it can be.
2020 wasn't a great season by any means, but had a few scorchers. Plus, you had very wacky races like Portimao, Mugello, Imola.DChemTech wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:30Thanks for your compliment.maxxer wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:25Joking or just an idiot because there was nothing about racing going on again.PinkFloydPulse wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:23

And no, not joking. Compared to 2015, 16... no worse. 2020 didn't even feature the teammate fight. And there's a lot more midfield scraps now, no 'whole field except top 6 being lapped' either.. those are improvements. It it not as good as it can be, sure, but neither as bad as it sometimes was.
Not really, though stats say Hamilton won 6 titles but there were challenges from Nico and Seb ( although Ferrari’s challenge would fade off by mid season) but still it was not this bad.DChemTech wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:15Boo hoo hoo.

Bearman is 18, didn’t expect to be driving the car, only had FP3 to prepare. It’s a very strong performance from the lad at a totally unforgiving venue. Recognition from Croft is richly deserved.
I think the cost cap would have worked if Adrian Newey wasn't allowed to be working on a ground effect "development car" for 4 years before hand. Also maybe if the cfd/wind tunnel was limited even further for first place teams. Ferrari have made a step but they will not be able to develop the car to compete with RB20 this yearDChemTech wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:22Bull.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:17Merc years gave us three memorable championship rivalries that will go down in history.DChemTech wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:15

This formula is delivering absolutely nothing and its locked in via the cost cap.
Were almost guaranteed a locked in podium for 24 races.
The cost cap makes things better. It is no more locking things in when each team spends 135 Meur, then when each top team spends 500 Meur, but the latter does lock other teams out.
Besides that, the only thing that was moderately exciting in worst of the MB seasons was the teammate battle, that had nothing to do with the cost cap as it was within one team.
Some people just have a sort of base contrarianism in them. Good performance for such short notice by Bearman.
Who is going to look back in a year and say that they remember that 4 car scrap in Jeddah for 11th place or whatever? The midfield is irrelevant. Everyone wants a fight for the win, and there will zero of that for the whole year. And next.DChemTech wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:30Thanks for your compliment.maxxer wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:25Joking or just an idiot because there was nothing about racing going on again.PinkFloydPulse wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:23

I think he did a great job it's just annoying hearing David Croft going on for an hour about itCaribouBread wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:33Some people just have a sort of base contrarianism in them. Good performance for such short notice by Bearman.
In 2021 when Mercedes was faster on forum from my country people said Norris is not defending against Hamilton because they're both Brits, but against Max he's pushing to the limits. I guess it's just a perspective you think he's fighting harder your favorite driver and not fighting one you don't love.Spacepace wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:19I don't agree. I agree that it was a mistake to release the design regs before the cost cap reg, yes, although other teams could have capitalised on that as well - it wumd benefit te richer teams as without the cost cap, they could still spend big on exploration. But yeah, similar things happened before the cap, too, with e.g. MB taking a massive engine lead in 2014.Spacepace wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 20:33I think the cost cap would have worked if Adrian Newey wasn't allowed to be working on a ground effect "development car" for 4 years before hand.
