No one is saying that, but denying Newey skills is crazy in my opinion. His understanding of the regulations and overall vision of the car is probably unmatched right now. As a matter of fact, he was the main force behind the push to the 2023 aero changes started by Mercedes (RB was against them at the beginning) because he thought they could hurt Ferrari in high speed corners and indeed he was right.

Hiring Newey would improve the technical Team massively, no doubt about that. At the same time, that doesn't mean Ferrari would win the WDC/WCC 100%
No,I am not trying to deny Newey Skills. I just think until recently, and this new push from Vasseur, Newey would have been drowned in the mess it was.

And I also think, if there is a need for "brilliant new head", there are other areas Ferrari needs to address before the Lead Aero guy. But that doesn't mean Newey wouldn't be a "super hiring", probably biggest ever.
Like what? Has Ferrari had a car in the past 15 years which was legitimately the best in terms of aero across a season?
17 and 18, Both years best aero, but they were behind on power.

Like Strategy, Like Tyre simulation. Team environment, change of culture in terms of people management. Which to be fair they are in course.

However more than Newey, Red Bull Racing is a well oiled Engineering Machine, and there are more to learn with them other than Aero.

Nah, not for the entire season. They may have had the most load in 17, but the Merc struck a better downforce/drag balance across the whole season. The power difference in 18 was negligible.

Probably not the best all season, but in 2017 Ferrari was the car to copy, even Newey did.

And as well in 22 we can say Ferrari managed the regs better, originally, than Red Bull, as the RBR car was overweight.

Now that it seems, since forever, that Ferrari always gets "slower" during the regs/seasons, that no one can deny.

Lets see if the new approach change that. Last year doesn't count as the base model was too slow to see if Ferrari can develop the car in the "knife edge".

Agreed

But I have to admit, antifan-fiction is really something else, like saying there was PU parity in 2017 or 2018

Also, considering the years before 2017 to assess the prowess of current Ferrari technical team does not make a lot of sense, since under Allison guidance R&D department used to comprise nearly no one of the leading technical figures presently on board.

I personally read F1T for the comedy part that exists here, like that 2014-20 wasn't ultra boring with the MB power rocket but now after 2 years of RB domination it is :)

What would Newey do to avoid pitting Leclerc for Hards, like in Hungary 2022? And many other "issues" Ferrari has unfortunately had.

I think the way Vasseur approach is first build strong foundations, and Newey I think would be a nice guarantee of continuation of evolution more than for revolution.

Ferrari "designing team" isn't that that bad right now as well.
Newey does sit in the pitwall, he could've pointed out that pitting for hards was a horrible awful call.
I'm still amazed on how that call was accepted...

Anyway, according to this https://www.funoanalisitecnica.com/2024 ... ro-f1.html Ferrari is talking to him.

Everyone let's kindly get back on topic - 2024 Scuderia Ferrari Team - not 2022, 2018, 2017 or others

Sainz opens up on his troubles in Jeddah and recovery process. He's passed the medical checks and egress test apparently, back to regular service in a few hours

Charles is quick and car looks on rails out of the gate. Early days, obviously, but encouraging. I think I’m still scarred from last year. This is just the new standard so not particularly interesting or new.

He made a lot of laps on that medium before going fastest.
Fastest on both tires.

It's looking good, did they release the shackles? After running "conservative" setups.
