No chance of winning. The track fits Red Bull perfectly. Even beating Checo is a long shot.
Podium is doable.

Checo gonna work on beating Checo this weekend like last year.

It's been almost 10 years since that fatal accident for Jules Bianchi. We will never forget you Jules!

Does not feel like 10 years ago, more like two years. Really sad.

Two weeks ago you said 5-6th was the expected outcome. Eternal pessimist?

That’s what rooting for Scuderia for the last 20 years does to a man.

Last time I was optimistic, 2019 Australian GP happened.

I mean, there’s always a chance - even if just through reliability/accidents.

I trust Fred if he says “everything is open” (https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-va ... /10594339/) - I don’t think he’s the wildly optimistic sort - and while I don’t expect us to have the pace of Max’s RB, I don’t think it’s out of the question to be in the right position to capitalise if they have some sort of issue.

last Race before the weekend started Ferrari were quite confident, Charles saying they will be competitive etc. This time they are back to Red bull will be quite bit ahead and are not so bullish. can Ferrari simulator also predict where the opponent will be based on some of the data they gather on track?

This was our gap last year according to this account.
Staying under 0.45s would be great.
Probably realistic if RB weren't bringing a major upgrade package. Staying under ~0.5s despite RB's gains would be somewhat encouraging.

More loaded rear wing brought to Suzuka but as the description reads it would suggest it is only likely to be used if threat of rain becomes imminent. Design carry over from last season.

That looked good. Ferrari was in the shot for maybe half a lap combined through the hour, but the laptimes weren’t bad. That mini race sim at the end was with LEC on high 1:35 and VER low 1:36. Sainz was 0.6 slower than LEC on his first lap there, the soft is not the right tire.

I’m on a plane though, so there’s not that much i can do at the moment with data.

Leclerc has no rhythm on the soft tyre, reoccurring theme for this season. But looks A-okay on the long runs.

Sainz matched the Red Bulls in S1, they do however find a tenth or so in S3

why is leclerc struggling in low fuel? we can see it in his steer input as well.. but in high fuel long run he tends to be comfortable

He is traumatized after last year and doesn’t trust the car. PTSD.

That would imply he isn't pushing hard enough, which I would say he definitely is if not overpushing.

But it's only FP1 let's nto throw things out of proportion

I would rather have him struggle in practice sessions and nail it in qualifying. The last few races has seen the opposite, which is not fun to watch :)
