Used mediums on the red bulls
New medium on Charles
New hard on Lewis and George (can’t see that ending well to start with others on soft behind)

If Ricciardo did this on purpose you'd be looking at this differently but he didn't so he gets a pass. He was desperate to not lose another place to Stroll and he f'd up
Ricciardo was keeping the position whether he moved over or not, that's not a place you pass on the outside from half a car length back. Albon's decision making is not good here, from the standpoint of taking a big risk without any real reward. That doesn't mean he is technically at fault for the crash, it just means it was a bad decision to put himself in a risky position.
Being beside Ricciardo is a risky position
Indeed, Ricciardo is a has been. But Albon needs to do better, the team is struggling already.

Surely Mercedes are going to be standing still on the race start, if they manage to keep their place after a couple laps however, they should look decent.

That's not a clear pass opportunity, that's a crash trap. He's always going to get squeezed there when he isn't fully alongside. He's putting himself in bad positions and the team can't afford it. How much money has this guy thrown down the drain in a team that needs every penny?

You'll notice that Lec passed Hamilton around the outside into 3.

I like that Kmag camera angle, gives indycar vibes. Plus Sauber did a pitstop below 5s woooo!

Leclerc should get a black flag for trying to pass. He was basically putting both their lives on the line by trying to get around the car in front. Stupid modern F1 and its dangerous overtakes, the FIA should do something about it before we go back to the 1950's when there was basically a death every race.

Lewis needs to hurry up here, need to be as close as possible for this strategy to work now that the others can stretch the new tyres

Merc's pace is horrible, seems any little change in temp going higher and their performance falls off a cliff

Interesting split strategy between McLaren and RB/Ferrari, but it justs seems that the McLaren are slower.

The Ferrari seems to have trouble to overtake and Sainz is losing time on the Mercedes like he did on Norris at the first stint.

Mercedes are absolutely screwed here, if the car is dropping off this rapidly on the hardest tyre only 20 laps in not sure what else they can do.
