I think the strategy was fine. If slightly conservative (but given deg it seems to be a good call).

Problem was that LEC did an amazing 1 stop on mediums/hards. McLaren wouldn't have been able to do that. No amount of strategy can overcome that.

He was always going to be battling for 3 or 4. The team tried to undercut leclerc to get 3rd but Ferrari had the sane idea. Two top teams at work.

Piastri was much slower - he wouldn't have held back LEC but I agree they could have tried it.

Looks like Red Bull is not as dominant as last year. But still faster. Let's get those updates.

Lando was struggling at end of the stint. He had pretty much lost the position to Leclerc by mot getting past him.

Both mercs would have got past him at his stop. We just don't have as good tyre life.

But the decision made sense.

We lost the position through the pace of the cars. The pit call was our only chance to get it back with an undercut it would be idiotic not to do it otherwise we'd be even further behind both Ferraris.

Leclerc lost 2-3 seconds when he went wide. Without that Lando wouldn't have been on his gearbox before the pit. I really don't think we can complain about the strategy.

My only idea was that they could have went one stopper Hard to Hard, but it seems that the degradation is just too high for that (or at least for McLaren, I am sure LEC could have done it).

I would expect Russell, at least to get Piastri, Lando to lose to both Ferraris. That's just how it is.

It seems Ferrari had better setup for the race, besides their drivers' talent. Its almost certain that Norris will lose his place from Sainz. We couldn't have better results with another strategy.

Norris is nervous. He has made many small mistakes today.

Yeah, we're just not fast enough and on top of that the deg is bad. Not the best of combinations.

They are faster than us, we didn't lose any position. Pits were a gamble to get position the car couldn't get.
